Study On Media Science And Technology Communication In A Risk Society

Since the late 20 th century,the outbreak of new revolution in the science and technology field has prompted the economic society onto the "technology-driven" road,and the resulting negative impact is becoming apparent.Currently,China has entered the era of risk society.The public not only lack the awareness and understanding of science,but also lack the trust in science advancement and social management,which affect stable and healthy development of Chinese society in the long term.Science and technology communication is seen as the symbol of human enlightenment and an important pathway to improving the public's science literacy.The science and technology communication by media in a risk society facilitates the scientific control of the risk society,playing an unique role in maintaining social stability and promoting social development.This article takes the broadcasting media as a sample,adopting the methodology of literature analysis,case study and theoretical analysis in combination with practical work,to tease out science and technology communication theories and current state of research in the domestic and overseas risk society,to trace back to the development process of science and technology communication in risk society,to sort out the paths,means and methods of media technology communication,to study the current situation and main issues of technology communication by the broadcasting media as communication main body,and to conduct a cause analysis of the absence of technology communication.Through the comparison between media technologies communication cases both at home and abroad,combined with work practice,this article is aim to study and explore the new ideas of media technology communication in a risk society,which can be briefly summarized as follows: The leading role of government needs to be reinforced in a risk society,which provides favorable policy environment for the operation and development of media technology communication,through improving system construction and relevant laws and regulations.The government needs to further increase financial input,especially the budgets for science popularization,meanwhile channel social funds into media technology communication,thereby laying solid material foundation for the sector.Moreover,the appraisal mechanism should be set up to promote tehnology communication from quantity growth to quality improvement.Furthermore,scientific culture and scientific spirit education for the society at large have to be enhanced through multiple approaches,to increase the awareness of technology communication for government officials.Also,it is important to cultivate media talents for technology communication,improve science literacy of media professionals,and set up technology expert database,to motivate the scientists to involve actively in technology communication by improving the commercialization of research findings.Additionally,supply-side reform should be expedited to innovate techonology communication earning model and thinking mode.With the development of new media,the market-oriented operating system for media technology communication can be built by creating media brands for science popularization.In general,promoting the development of science and technology communication as well as the public's scientific literacy can lay solid foundation for stable and healthy development of society and economy in terms of science and technology.
