Traceability And Approach: Phenomenological Visualization Of "Computing" Thinking In Communication Research

The social changes brought about by technological development not only lead to the failure of traditional communication theory,but also to the failure of traditional research methods in solving complex and massive data problems.Promoted by this knowledge innovation,communication researches are rapidly intermingled with various disciplines,and branch disciplines are fully developed.Among them,the dialogue with computer science,thermodynamics,information science and other natural sciences has gradually made the new computing methods known and recognized by the communication academia.This is both an opportunity and a crisis.The wide esteem of "computing" thinking in the field of communication has brought about the increasingly prominent technical rationality,which not only leads to the confusion of the theoretical context of communication science,but also raises the impetuous upsurge in the academic research field.Communication science has fallen into an awkward situation for a while : "Computing" thinking provides a new opportunity,but also narrowly restricts the subject imagination.In retrospect of history,the fermentative application of "calculation" thinking is a watchful reappearance of scientism.The upsurge of innovation is actually the academic change brought about by science and technology.It is too narrow to praise and criticize it blindly.We should retain a kind of awe attitude and return to the philosophical roots to examine and reflect on these troubles.We should not be confused by the current phenomena.Phenomenology,as a philosophy of science,emphasizes eliminating all external settings and returning to the pure essence of things.As a philosophical trend of thought,it liberates the dilemma of Social Sciences in the antagonistic relationship between natural sciences and humanities.It can also disenchant the "computing" thinking,visualize the essence of communication,and bridge these dilemmas in the development of communication.Since the birth of communication,disputes about positivism and criticism have been continuing along with the process of social development.The empirical thought of the origin of communication science follows the scientism derived from empiricism in the history of Western philosophy.This paper traces back to "computing" thinking through the intuitive method of phenomenology and brings it back to the metamorphic relationship of philosophical connotation.Then,by means of transcendental reduction and phenomenological description,it explores the essence of technological rationality,and reviews the similar dilemma in the historical evolution,it puts forward two points of thinking of "computing" thinking in the approach of communication science: Unmasking the ontological content of Communication from the fog of technology;resolving the irrational conflict between technical rationality and humanistic thinking.This attempt also reconstructs the essential and functional cognition of contemporary communication science,and provides enlightenment for the development of academic research.
