In China,starting with SUPER BOYS in 2003,talent shows have been developing for 15 years.During this time,it experienced success,also experienced query of "talent shows are dead".With the development of The Times,how to revitalize such shows,and the idol cultivation mode absorbed from pop culture that can most attract the young audiences,can be regarded as a positive way out of the old talent shows.Since 2015,there have been many talent shows at home and abroad aiming at cultivating idol groups,which have achieved high ratings and clicks,become hot spots on social network sites,and obtain substantial commercial benefits.In 2018,the two idol group cultivation talent shows9/100 and PRODUCE 101 which produced by video website iQIYI and Tencent,have attracted unprecedented attention from the public.However,due to the short history of such talent shows,there is still little discussion on them in the academic circle at present.Therefore,idol group cultivation talent shows as an emerging program,it is necessary to do systematic analysis and deep exploration on it.This paper chooses idol group cultivation talent show as the main research object.The whole paper is divided into three parts: introduction,the theory and conclusion.And the theory has four chapters:The first chapter mainly summarizes the development of idol group cultivation talent show.Firstly,it defines the concept of this kind of program,and then selects foreign idol group cultivation talent show PRODUCE 101 as the main text to analyze its program elements.In the end,sorts out the development situation of idol group cultivation talent shows in China,and analyzes and summarizes the main characteristics ofsuch shows in China.The second chapter mainly explains the concept of "cultivation".In Japan,the concept of "cultivation" began with a video game that simulates a parenting role and provides players with a sense of full participation and companionship."Cultivation" and "accompanying growth" are the main characteristics of this concept,which was subsequently used to training and operation mode of Japanese idol artists.AKB48,Japan's national idol girls' group,has designed a unique "theater performance + handshake meeting + idol annual general election" mode for fans to participate in the cultivation of idols.After a comparative study of foreign idol group cultivation talent show PRODUCE 101 and "Idol Annual General Election" for AKB48,it can be seen that this program references Japanese AKB48's "idol cultivation" model.Third chapter takes South Korea's first generation idol group H.O.T.as an example,analyzes the characteristics of Korean idol groups and then further explores such idol group's production,training,packaging,marketing as a vertically integrated production system,and focus on explains to the standardized and systematized training parts of the "trainee",parses idol group cultivation talent show's absorption of South Korea "trainee" cultivation system.Finally,uses the critical theories of mass culture represented by Frankfurt school to dialectically think about the idols produced under the standardized idol production system.The fourth chapter mainly objectively analyzes the various problems existing in the talent shows of idol group cultivation in China.One the idol problem of fans' "money cultivation",second the doubt of contestants' "strength cultivation",third serious homogenization of the programs,and fourth the star mentors' "overwhelming spotlight".Aiming at these problems,this paper provides some constructive Suggestions such as developing original program mode,Innovatively using cross-media storytelling,strengthening program brand building,reasonably arranging star mentors lineup and enhancing program connotation.It is expected to have a positive guiding effect and significance on the development of idol group cultivation talent shows.
