Information Center for Social Sciences,RUC is one of the largest and most influential copying databases in China,and has become the most authoritative and influential academic brand in the field of humanities and social sciences in China.As a branch of the editing and publishing research field,Publishing Industry embodies the most advanced and high-level research and research essence in the field of editing and publishing.The research on Publishing Industry not only can provide the public with deep understand in the development of the publication,but also reflect the development of the editing and publishing discipline.As a new subject,the editorial publishing discipline is worthy of attention on the development of its disciplines,the study of subject and object,research methods,and the characteristics of researchers.Through the use of the bibliometric research method,the original journals and regional distribution of the publications,the fund papers,the author's individual characteristics,and the co-production and keywords are analyzed,combining with the positioning and column settings of the Publishing Industry.In the past five years,the characteristics of the publications and the orientation of the selection of the Publishing Industry have been analyzed.At the same time,combined with the current research,the research status and future development trends of the editorial publishing discipline are discussed.Judging from the information on the papers,the total number of publications in the field of editing and publishing has increased continuously in the past five years,while the volume of publications in the Publishing Industry has shown a downward trend.However,the fund papers have increased correspondingly and the average funds in the article.These can prove that the obvious effect of Publishing Industry is to gather more quality papers.The original journals of these papers are relatively fixed,mainly in the core publications in the field of editing and publishing.The Journal of the Macau Polytechnic Institute is the other important source of reproducting the core jouranls.The source areas of the papers are scattered and spread throughout the country.Shanghai,Hubei,Jiangsu,Zhejiang and other regions are the key source areas.Through the analysis of the author's individual characteristics,it is found that the composition of the author of Publishing Industry is more reasonable and the overall quality is higher.The authors from the academy,industry and government agencies are well distributed,and most of them have doctoral degrees or senior titles.However,the level of scientific research output is low,the author's co-production scale and co-authorization level are low,lack of core leading figures,the construction of academic leaders is lagging behind,and the construction of academic community is lagging behind.Key words clustering data show that the current research in the field of editing and publishing mainly focuses on the five major themes which are digital publishing,Journal evaluation,History research,National reading and System reform.In the past five years,research has been focused and deepened.However,the link among the keywords are not tight enough,and the research fields are relatively scattered.Although there are highely frequent keywords,the overall research concentration and depth are still shallow.The application-oriented research values are presented,the theoretical research and the history research are weak,and the research development in the field of editing and publishing is not balanced.
