A Study Of Occupational Mobility Among Paper-Media Workers In Guangzhou Under The Background Of Resignation Waves

Deterioration of the market for paper media and uncertainty of transformation direction have strengthened the bleak judgment of traditional paper-media by paper-media wokers.The declining social status of paper-media workers,job burnout,hindered path of promotion,disproportionate income aggravates anxiety and panic among paper-media workers.Since 2014,The resignation tide has not retreated or even intensified.Some of the paper-media workers who have already resigned are relying on their accumulated resources to gain the greatest realization of value,and the others are still struggling to adapt to their new posts.With the slowdown of paper media and the gloomy prospects of development,the media industry and academia have mostly focused on media transition or on paper-media workers who still stay in paper-media,with less concern about the status of paper-media workers who have left their jobs.Based on the sociological theory and the related researches on occupational mobility from domostic and foreign scholar,this paper uses the questionnaire survey,the literature analysis and the depth interview method to analyze the occupational mobility state of Guangzhou paper-media workers.Besides,it also study the reason of the occupational mobility and the predicament after the career flow.This thesis mainly consisits of four parts: The first part mainly elaborates the background and significance of the research,and then summarizes the current situation of research on occupational mobility,clarifies the research ideas and research methods,as well as the innovation and deficiency of the article,and define the related concepts.The second part focuses on the occupational mobility of paper-media workers' s status in Guangzhou,including an overview of Guangzhou paper-media,the basic conditions of respondents,career flow path,career flow in the way,types and characteristic of occupational mobility.The third part analyzes the reason why the occupation mobility of the paper-media workers in Guangzhou,and analyzes the reasons for leaving the paper media from the personal factors,the media factors and the social factors and analyzes the reasons for choosing this new jobs.The fourth part analyzes the predicament after occupational mobility and try to give specific measures.
