Survey On Media Talent Demands In Less-developed Southwest China During The Media Convergence Transition Period

The media form has undergone a dramatic transformation with the development of new media technologies in recent years.Newspapering as the traditional media form has lost its dominant position and convergence transition become the inevitable choice for traditional media in the fierce competition of media market.President Xi has stressed on the forum of CPC on media and public opinions that “to promote the development of convergence and take the advantage of new media”.As the environment changes,there are some achievements in promoting convergence transition for traditional media through the establishment of new media platforms,the reform of content production model,and the adjustment of institutions and job positions.However,media convergence transition is a hard process which highlights many issues such as talent,technology,and organization.The demand for talents in media transition also changes.Based on media convergence theory,this paper focuses on talent demand of Guizhou Daily Media Group in convergence transition by using literature research,questionnaires,interviews etc.There are five parts in this paper.The first part is introduction,which gives explanations of research background,core concepts,research status and research ideas.The second part investigates the development of media integration and the in-service personnel structure of Guizhou Daily,and analyzes the current staff structure of Guizhou Daily from the perspectives of the professional composition,education background,job responsibilities,internal organization and post setting and assessment management of the incumbents.The third part is the investigation of the talent demand of the Guizhou Daily during the transition period of media integration and analyzes the talent demand of the Guizhou Daily in the transition period of media integration.The fourth part surveys the supply of talents in Guizhou universities during the transition period of media integration,combines the contents analyzed above,and reflects on the cultivation of talents for journalism majors in Guizhou's colleges and universities,and summarizes related issues.The last part is the conclusion and deficiency of this paper.
