The Study On The Application And Development Of Data Journalism In Environmental Reporting

Information technology leads the transformation of the world's new communication environment.The development of Internet,Cloud Computing and SensorTechnology has promoted a Big Data revolution in the society.The application of Big Data in journalism has changed the traditional news production process,and created a new reporting mode with data driven as the main feature — — Data Journalism.As a way of information production combined with both scientific and artistic features,Data Journalism plays an increasingly important role in the communication of media information,as is called "the future of journalism".At the same time,with the rapid development of economy and society in recent years,environmental problems such as air pollution,ecological disaster and technical risk have started to emerge,and the relevant contention for public opinion is becoming increasingly fierce.Media play a core role in the environmental communication,and media reports can influence the public cognition and judgment of environmental risk,promote the solving of environmental problems through dialogue and consultation,and help the fundamental improvement of the environmental conflicts.Therefore,this paper attempts to explore the application situation of data journalism in the field of environmental reporting,which has certain practical significance.This article has explored the application and development situation of the data news used in environmental reporting mainly from the following several aspects:First,respectively elaborate on the connotation,characteristics,the present situation and future development of data news and the environment reporting;Second,combine with the narrative advantages of data news,and take classic cases for example,to analyze the applicability of the data news in environmental reporting,including improvingprofundity into the environmental reporting,increasing the visualization of the environmental news,promoting the interactive quality of environmental reports;Thirdly,focus on the content analysis of the present situation of the application of data news in environment reporting,through 145 environmental reports from the selected five major domestic data news column,from the number ofreports,data sources,theme,nature,function,visualization to conduct the quantitative analysis;Fourth,through the application of empirical analysis,explore the imperfections of the environmental data news existing in the practice,and from Environmental Agenda,Data utilization,Visualization,Interactivity,Constructive,Extension to summarize six aspects,and finally put forward some suggestions for improvement.This paper mainly USES the method of content analysis and literature analysis.In addition,for a better demonstration of the views,this paper involves the data journalism,environment communication,risk society theory,agenda setting theory for the reference,to enhance the credibility of the arguments and enrich the theoretical connotation of the paper.Finally,it is hoped that the research of this paper will make the data journalism better serve the environmental communication andcontribute to the future research.
