In the era of mobile internet,location media has penetrated deeply into the daily life of the Chinese people.Check-ins based on mobile social platforms,is the core practice type of location media.Therefore,along the research path of media practice,this article examines the position of the most widely used WeChat's check-ins in Chinese daily life according to the framework of domestication theories and the concepts of Heidegger's philosophy of technology,the theory of daily life practice,and human geography.The aim of the research on practice of check-ins is explore the process of embedding and embedding the media technology in the daily life of users with different contexts,trying to break through the premise that mainstream media studies regard media technologies as tools,and rethink media technologies.Investigate the dynamic and complex domestication relationship between human and media technologies.On the one hand,first of all,through combing,summarizing and summarizing domestication theories and their research results,we reinterpret and expand their research objects,research units,and research scopes,so that the domestication theories formed in the mass media environment can adapt to the new media technology environment which is individualization,decentralization,and smallness.And explains the possibility and rationality of the study of WeChat's check-ins practices from the perspective of domestication.On the other hand,qualitative interviews using in-depth interviews and participatory observations were combined with the interviewee's WeChat's check-in records to further collate and analyze interview data.While exploring how technology is embedded in people's daily life,taking into account the researcher's daily life experience is reconstructed by the embedding of media technologies.The study found that,first of all,people and location media technology need to undergo pre-acclimation,that is,producers and designers will assign functional settings and meanings to media products based on the way people expect to use media technologies or acceptable forms.The users will think about the business context and their own needs of the WeChat's check-ins.Secondly,the user will use the WeChat location check-ins to appropriate,objectify,integrate,and convert the four phases that are both crossed and distinguished from each other.People can gradually embed it in the space-time structure of everyday life;Thirdly,in conjunction with Heidegger's philosophy of technology,found that Wechat's check-ins as a personal,non-entity media technology has the dual meaning of technology and media in addition to the technology of physical media in the early days of domestication theory.In addition,it also realizes the double connection between public space and private space,work space and leisure space,virtual space and real space,which reflects the mutual domestication relationship between people and technology,and changes people's way of life?thinking and perception.Finally,The domestication relationship between people and location media technology is not static,it may be accompanied by changes in technology and changes,the replacement of the human life stage,changes in the individual's mood,etc.,or by reaccelerating the meaning of repositioning the location media technology for people.In the daily life space of people,new embedding is realized,or people form a domestication standard in the process of collective domestication,or re-domestication and de-domestication.These phases are from the entire history of science and technology life.From an angle point of view,it represents the meaning circulation of position media in the time dimension of individual life.The domestication research through the WeChat's check-ins proves that only in the daily life of most ordinary and ordinary media technology users can one understand the person who is the subject of practice in the seemingly small,trivial and insignificant details of life.How to use the media science and technology to carry out meaning creation,through the diversification of practice,reveal the nature of technology,and then fully understand the social and cultural meaning of the new media technology in social life.
