The explosive growth of broadband data services has led to the large-scale expansion of optical transport networks(OTNs).At the same time,OTN has faced many problems such as system expansion and routing coordination difficulties,and low network utilization.The features of software-defined networking(SDN)technology are open interfaces,separation control,centralized control that provide new solutions for improving the current utilization of optical transport network resources and simplifying the management and maintenance of optical transport networks.This thesis aims at simplifying the operation and maintenance of optical transport networks,improving the utilization of optical network resources,and researching and designing the application of SDN in optical transport networks.Based on the research on the development of SDN technology and optical transport networks,this thesis discussed the feasibility and technical characteristics of software-defined optical transport networks,summarizes the application scenarios of software-defined optical networks,and conducts research on collaborative solutions based on IP and optical.Based on the research of softwaredefined network controller design technology,combined with the research project and engineering platform of the project team,this thesis designed the optical transport network controller.By testing the running equipment of the existing network,the relevant functions of the controller are verified.Through the analysis of the test results,the conclusion is drawn that the efficiency of the network service is improved.This thesis is based on the application of software-defined network in optical transport network.The main research and work contents are as follows.(1)The software-defined network technology has been researched,and the development of optical network intelligence has been deeply investigated.The feasibility of introducing optical network into software-defined network and the technical characteristics of software-defined optical transport network has been analyzed.(2)The application scenario of software-defined optical transport network has been summarized,the technical scheme of IP layer and optical layer fusion has been studied,and the solution of IP and optical collaboration based on SDN has been proposed.(3)The controller design technology of the software-defined network has been studied.The overall design of the optical transport network controller based on the software-defined network has been presented.The module components and module functions has been introduced and the related functions of the controller has been verified through testing.
