The NC system based on PC is becoming a hot research topic in machining. However, processing requirements was not taken into consideration in many studies of NC system, so the advantages of Open CNC could not be fully exploited. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of processing requirements and increase the productivity, a motion controller which is based on integration of process was put forward, and key technologies were researched for this kind of controller. This controller can hit the spot of numerical machining with process requirements and make sure the products have high-precision.The controller must be designed in a low-cost, high-efficiency, opened and modeling way. Firstly, key technologies of integration of processing were researched. Information, knowledge, process and function were all taken into consideration for the controller. It will provide a reference for this kind of motion controllers which need process requirements. Secondly, some miscellaneous function for this opened motion controller was also designed. Such as the function of reading CAD files, the function of reading bar-codes for manufacturing, integrated with ERP system. So the functions of the controller were extended and its commonality was increased. Then the overall structure of this opened motion controller was put forward and the openness of the controller was designed, including the design of modeling function, the design of network and design of interfaces.The motion controller which was based on process integration was applied to steel bar bending machine. Then the opened motion controller based on processing technology of steel bar machining was designed, including the finite-element analysis for steel bar bending, the spring-back calculation of steel bar bending, the design of database for spring-back angles, the design of four main option interfaces of motion control and other aided interfaces. Besides the design of interfaces, the module of motion control was also designed, including module of10, module of manual mood, module of automatic mood and so on. A process database for steel bar bending for the opened controller based on process integration of steel bar was built, considering the phenomenon that when the pressure on steel bar was canceled, the steel bar would spring-back and the interior angle of the steel bar graph would became larger. The angle compensation would be added in an automatic way for the motion controller to any wanted angle. At last the motion controller which was based on process integration of steel bar was applied to actual production, and got a good experimental result.
