The Differentiation And Circle Relationship Of The Field Of Social Movement

With the development of urbanization and the enhancement of citizen consciousness in recent years,more and more people join the protection movement of historical blocks and old buildings.Based on the theories of social movements,Bourdieu's theory of field and the concept of "taste circle ",this paper tries to describe the differentiation and the relationship of the circle in the field of old building protection movement.And Harbin old building protection movements are the points where the author come in.The article first combs and introduces the previous social movement researches and the old building protection movement researches;then describes the history and styles of Harbin architectures,and summarizes the history of Harbin old architectures after the founding of the people's Republic of China,just from the "disorderly destruction" to "orderly protection";and next,according to the data obtained from field participation observation and interviews,the field structure of Harbin old building protection movements is described and analyzed in detail,and then draw the conclusions.Through field observation and some interviews,the author found that the participants of Harbin Old Building Protection Movement can be divided into three groups according to the different attention and actions of the protection of the old buildings,which are: academic elites who emphasize the original nature of the old buildings,and cultural communicators that emphasize the value of the collective memories of the old buildings,and the civil insurance volunteers who pay close attention to the protection of the old buildings with practical actions.The members of each circle have a certain degree of "disdain" attitude towards the members of the non-self circle,thus forming an open "contempt ring" in thefield of protecting the movements.But at the same time,the boundaries among these groups can be crossed when the groups demand.The main structure can gain a strong mobilization ability and then promote the success of social movements when it can embody the strength among the participants and attract potential participants.This paper hopes to explain the differentiation and stratification of the internal field of the social movements through the description and analysis of the old building protection movements in Harbin,and then provides ideas and help for the later researches.
