Work and family represent two important spheres in an adult's social life,and the relationship between them on the job performance draws high attention.Through literature review,there was no consistent conclusion on the effects of work family conflict and work family enrichment on job performance,and it is still controversial that weather the relationship between work-family relationship and job performance is in line with the cross-domain perspective or the popular matching perspective.In addition,cross-cultural studies have put forward new requirement for the study of work-family relationship.For the above problem,combined with the recent empirical studies in English and Chinese,this thesis makes comprehensive quantitative analysis on relevant empirical research results that shed light on work-family relationship and job performance,and tries to test the applicability of cross-matching perspective to describe the relationship between work-family relationship and job performance,using meta-analytic path analyses.In addition,this thesis considers the effects of moderate variables--cultural background,population characteristics and data characteristics--on the relationship between the two variables,in order to gain a deeper understanding of the role that moderate variables play between work-family relationship and job performance.Using meta-analytic path analysis,the results show that work-family conflict and job performance is negatively related(? =-0.08),family-work conflict and job performance is negatively related(? =-0.23),work-family enrichment and job performance is positive related(? =0.31),family-work enrichment and job performance is positive related(?=0.39),and all the results above are moderated by some demographic variables but there is no moderated effect on data characteristics.In addition,the effect of work-family conflict on job performance is significantly stronger than the influence of work-family conflict on job performance,and the effect of work-family enrichment on job performance is significantly stronger than the influence of family-work enrichment on job performance.The conclusions above do not support the popular matching perspective but the cross-domain perspective.In different cultural background,the effect of work-family conflict on job performance have no significant different,and the same to the effect of family-work conflict on job performance.In addition,the effect of work-family enrichment on job performance have significant different,and the same to the effect of family-work enrichment on job performance.All the conclusions have important theoretical contributions and practical contributions to the study of work-family relationship.The definition of the main effects will eliminate the doubt of the variety of variable relationships in empirical studies.The determination of the “Cross-matching” perspective will help organizations optimize the allocation of resources,and the conclusions of moderating effects will provide theoretical support for the differentiated human resources practice.Finally,this thesis makes a detailed discussion about the research results,and gives the practical implications and theoretical implications.In addition,this thesis analyzes the limitations and points out the future research directions from multiple perspectives.
