With the rapid economic development and the continuous process of urbanization in all countries of the world, the intensity of human's exploitation and utilization of social resources and environment has also been continuously strengthened Therefore,a series of environmental problems have a negative impact on the living space and productive activities of human beings.Global warming is the most serious environmental problem so far,how to reduce greenhouse gases and how to deal with the energy crisis has become the focus of international attention.Countries all over the world have begun to realize the importance of changing the economic model, changing the high-carbon situation and developing the low-carbon economy. As the largest developing country in the world and a big energy-consuming country,it is very important for China to achieve the goal of low-carbon emission reduction and embark on the path of green and low-carbon development.Firstly, the energy consumption and carbon footprint of Chongqing are analyzed, and the basic trend, growth rate, intensity and composition of the energy and carbon footprint in the past 18 years are studied The results show that the energy consumption and the energy carbon footprint show an obvious increasing trend, with the average annual growth rates of 7.69% and 7.24% respectively That is,there has been no substantial improvement in the energy consumption structure;energy intensity has declined significantly, but is still higher than the international energy intensity level during the same period;and the overall structure of the energy carbon footprint is relatively stable Coal and oil account for an average of more than 90% of that total.Secondly, based on the analysis of energy carbon footprint, the ecological pressure of energy carbon footprint and its relationship with related economic indicators are quantified. The results show that the ecological pressure of energy carbon footprint increased from 0.51 in 2000 to 1.37 in 2017 The average annual growth rate is 6.07%,and the average annual growth rate of the total energy carbon footprint is 7.24%,which is much higher than the average annual growth rate of the total vegetation area of 1.18%The overall intensity of energy carbon footprint shows a downward trend(2005-2006 has a small increase trend outside),but its annual average rate of decline of 7% is less than the annual average GDP growth rate of 15%,still can not achieve the current emission reduction targets;During 2000-2017,there were 1 negative decoupling,2strong decoupling and the other 14 weak decoupling, that is,the decoupling relationship between the EPICF and the per capita GDP mainly showed as: the per capita GDP increased, the EPICF increased less than the economic growth. Then, based on the theoretical model in Chapter 2,an extended STIRPAT model was developed to estimate the parameters of carbon emissions using quantile regression The effects of different factors on carbon emissions under different percentiles and different factors on carbon emissions under different percentiles were discussed respectively The results show that the size of economy and the total population are the two most important factors to promote carbon emission, and they are unlikely to be the factors to restrain carbon emission in a short time Improvements in the industrial structure and investment in R & D have great potential to reduce carbon emissions;the impact of energy on carbon emissions is less stable, and the energy mix is still dominated by coal and has not substantially changed The energy intensity changes from positive effect to negative effect with the increase of carbon emission. Finally, based on the theory of quantile regression, whether there is an inverted "U" type Environment Simon Kuznets curve in each quantile is verified Therefore,it is impossible to determine the specific shape of the Environmental Simon Kuznets curve, there is an inverted "U"-shaped Environmental Simon Kuznets curve at the Middle Percentile and an "N"-shaped Environmental Simon Kuznets curve at the high percentile.
