The advent of the Internet has changed every aspect of people's daily lives, including family.Under the impact of the network media, the traditional family interaction mode is changing day by day,and is developing in the direction of "digital family".As a manifestation of "digital family",the family WeChat group has become a tool for people to reunite online, not only reflecting a new way of interaction between family members, but also affecting the intimate relationship between family members. In family communication, many researchers regard family relationship as a"backstage" of self-presentation.They believe that there is no impression management in the case of acquaintances socializing, but more and more researcher found that there is a trend of "performance" in family communication.Based on the predecessors'research, this study takes college students as the research object, and uses the methods of literature, participatory observation and semi-structured interviews to analyze the self-presentation in the "Chinese-style" family WeChat group, including three parts:what led to the performance in the family WeChat group(motivation),the specific process of the performance(process?strategy and Characteristics),what effect does the performance have(influence). The study find that the performance of college students are restraint and carnival under hyper-reality.The motives of college students' performance can be divided into two parts:"home-based" interpersonal harmony(meeting family expectations, family harmony, politeness and decorum in the post-figurative culture),and "people-oriented"self-harmony(long-term online stimulation response, seek group identity by low cost, isolation privacy backstage). The performance strategies of college students are:face diffetrent topics, adopt different strategies;face different generations, switch different expression styles, adjust different strategies;all strategies are based on adapting to Chinese family ethics. The effect of college students' performance on themselves and their real family relationships is more harmful than good. For college students:long-term online is equal to long-term oppression, exacerbating self-cognitive anxiety, loneliness under "spectacle self-presentation";for real family relationships:The lack of "cultural feedback" intensifies the "digital gap",the "kitsch mask-performance"destroys family cohesion, performance disorder leads to family conflicts. Therefore, this study advocates the establishment of a "young-centered" digital home operation model.
