| LETV Sports experienced success and failure,was also praised and criticized in these four years.LETV Sports had created a record for the first round of valuation and financing in Chinese sports industry,which encouraged other entrepreneurs,attracted investors,damaged the interests of traditional sports media,and made Internet Sports a hot topic.At the same time,LETV Sports is also known as dream-maker who told story and gave some new concepts for making money.At the beginning of the development of Chinese sports industry,LETV Sports is a worthwhile research subject,because there are so many different terms and concepts used to describe it.It is a remarkable fact that development of LETV Sports is influenced by internal and external factors.This research chooses media coverage from many external factors to discusses how the media reported and what coverage have an impact on LETV Sports.Since LETV Sports created the financing record,the media chased and reported it,which became forerunner and revolutionary on the media.But afterwards,LETV Sports was constantly criticized and satirized by the media.The interaction between social realities and media realities influenced the development of LETV Sports and Chinese sports industry.This research uses the frame theory as the theoretical basis,and chooses the coverage of LETV Sports as the research object on the People's Daily Online,Xinhuanet,Chinanet,Tencent News,Tou Tiao News and Sina News,then selects 190 news texts from them as research samples.When analyzing 190 news texts,this research uses framing analysis and content analysis,and design research categories referring to other researches.Lastly,according to the basic characteristics,details and structural characteristics of news texts,this research designed 11 analytical indicators.This research finds when media reported LETV Sports which used the news frame of sports industry,corporate operating,problem and crisis,and contrast and conflict.Firstly,it is not objective that the media used these news frames to report LETV Sports,because the media lacked balanced coverage of LETV Sports.Secondly,media reported LETV Sports which paid more attention to the factor of sports industry,but ignored the factor of sports media.Lastly,media coverage influenced the development of LETV Sports,which not only shaped LETV Sports as an unexpected winner in Chinese sports industry,but also criticized LETV Sports as a dream-maker who told stories and cheated the investors' money.This research provided some helpful opinions on the media coverage.First of all,LETV Sports and Chinese sports industry need more objective coverage.When Chinese sports industry makes progress,the media not only have praised coverage but also critical coverage;when Chinese sports industry meets problems,the media not only have bad news but also inspiring news,which is the media's responsibility.Besides,these are many other problems of LETV Sports and Chinese sports industry deserve to be reported.Finally,although now media criticizes LETV Sports and Chinese sports industry,but in the future,the media will change its news frame about them.Because there are many turning points for LETV Sports and Chinese sports industry. |
