Post-impressionist paintings have strong colors and focus on emotional expression.Through continuous exploration,the painter gradually got rid of the influence of impressionism and formed his own unique artistic expression form.The representative figures "van gogh","gauguin" and "Cezanne" have achieved more than the achievements of future generations.They are the origin of modern art,made outstanding contributions to the development of modern art,but also influenced the later expressionism,brutalism,cubism and other artistic trends.Until today,the use of color in post-impressionism is still particularly important.This paper studies the use of color in the paintings of important representatives of post-impressionism.The author analyzes and studies the post-impressionist works to understand the reasons for the formation of post-impressionist paintings,their unique artistic language and expression forms.After a lot of copying and practice summary,to learn the color changes,the application in their own creation.In the process of painting creation,the author started to make bold use of color,referring to the light and shade change of color in van gogh's paintings,the expression of plane and original symbolic color in gauguin's paintings,and the pure feature of color rationality in Cezanne's paintings.The post-impressionist paintings are the spiritual wealth left to the later generations.They combine the brushwork and color perfectly to make the picture extremely tense.Strong and deep color performance,is not only to the life of the eulogy is also to the life of the awe.The author studied the post-impressionist representative painters,summarized their color characteristics,analyzed the influence of post-impressionism on modern art,and looked for the source of self-creation under the inspiration of post-impressionist paintings.
