Research On Zhen Dexiu's Enlightenment Educational Ideology

With the development of private education in the Song Dynasty,the demand for children and teachers has increased day by day,what's more,many academic people participated in education actively,such as Zhu Xi and so on.Enlightened reading materials which newly-edited by Confucianists have also emerged in large numbers,which led to the popularization of the enlightenment education in the Song Dynasty.Under the influence of this social environment,Zhen Dexiu also devoted himself to enlightenment education.He elaborated his own educational thoughts through the " General Etiqutte of Family School",and the persuasion of the text.Zhen Dexiu was deeply influenced by Zhu Xi's educational thoughts,but he further developed Zhu Xi's education thoughts on children and formed his own style.Zhen Dexiu's thoughts on enlightenment education concentrated on his work " General Etiqutte of Family School",and it's for the teaching activities of country schools.The content of this book is to regulate students' behaviors such as how to sit,stand,speak and act,how to dress and wear a hat,how to look or hear correctly,how to eat or drink,give precedence to others…… At the same time,it also cultivate students' knowledge of reading,singing and poetry,so as to promote their moral literacy and knowledge skill,thus,they can keep a foothold in the society and serve this society better.This paper further discusses the idea and method of Zhen Dexiu's enlightenment education,that is,exploring thoroughly the logos and the intrinsic character,art can cultivate students' character,infiltrating little by little,reading books step by step,and strengthen the practice,called practical utility.Zhen Dexiu's disciples made great achievement,more and more later generations give him a high praise,it is even more obvious that Zhen Dexiu not restricted to the Neo-Confucianism,but learn from others.In short,the light of Zhen Dexiu's enlightenment thoughts should not be obscured by Zhu Xi,and the rich content of it still play an important role in modern times.
