Literature translation has always been the important medium for the spread of the world culture.Autobiography translation shares the oldest history in the literary field,and it contains rich artistic values,which plays a vital role in cultural communication.High-quality autobiography translation can not only attract more readers,but also it can better promote cross-culture communication among different countries.The source text of this report comes from an autobiography My Life collecting 30 stories.The autobiography is about a worker's ordinary but an inspiring life.It was written in a simple language style,and its language is featured with rich local cultural values.The writer of the report adopted the three rules of the Skopostheorie to guide the translation work.Through the case analysis,the reporter precisely analyzes the English translated version of My life from the lexical,syntactical and discourse level.On the lexical level,especially on those cultural-loaded words.In order to maintain the original meaning of the source text and minimizing the comprehension difficulties of the target text reader,the paraphrase,literal translation,combination methods are utilized.On the syntactical level,considering the different sentence structure between Chinese and English,the literal and combination translation methods are adopted.Besides,the reconstruction and division methods are chosen to achieve discourse coherence.The writer of the report aims to provide some practical translation methods and strategies for the future autobiography translation based on the case analysis of the English translation of My life.Meanwhile,reporter hopes that it cannot only provide some relevant studies on autobiography translation,but also promote the development of the autobiography translation.
