Purpose:Spastic hemiplegia after stroke has become the focus of sequelae of stroke. In order to solve the problem of treatment of spastic hemiplegia after stroke,a clinical controlled trial was designed. This study investigated the therapeutic effect of fire-needle balance yin and yang method on spasticity after stroke, and explored an effective treatment method to further standardize the treatment scheme of spastic hemiplegia after stroke.Method:In this study,a random number table was used to divide 70 patients admitted to the acupuncture ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine into 35 treatment groups and 35 control groups. Both groups were given conventional drug therapy for cerebrovascular disease. The treatment group used fire acupuncture combined with ordinary acupuncture therapy, while the control group used simple ordinary acupuncture therapy for 2 weeks each.Evaluations before and after treatment were recorded separately, including a modified Ashworth(MAS)scale,a simplified Fugl-Meyer(FMA)scale motor function score,a clinical spasm index(CSI)score, and a modified Barthel index(MBI)score. To evaluate the improvement of patients’ muscle tone, motor function and ability to take care of themselves in daily life,in order to evaluate the therapeutic effect of fire acupuncture on spastic hemiplegia after stroke.Result:1.Comparison of the basic data(gender, age, stroke type),MAS rating, simplified FMA score,CSI score,MBI score, etc.between the treatment group and the control group before treatment, which showed no statistical significance after testing(P> 0.05).Comparable between the two groups.2.Comparison between the treatment group and the control group in each group, the difference between the MAS rating, simplified FMA score,CSI score, and MBI score before and after treatment was statistically significant(P <0.05).3.After treatment, there were statistically significant differences in MAS rating, simplified FMA score,CSI score and MBI score between the treatment group and the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.The balance of Yin and Yang with fire needle combined with ordinary acupuncture and ordinary acupuncture can improve the degree of spasm in patients with spastic hemiplegia after stroke, improve the ability of daily life, and restore limb motor function.2.Fire needle balance Yin-Yang method combined with ordinary acupuncture is superior to ordinary acupuncture in improving the degree of limb spasm, improving daily life ability, restoring limb motor function and so on.3.Fire needle balance Yin and Yang method combined with ordinary acupuncture is a safe and effective comprehensive therapy, which improves the treatment plan of spastic hemiplegia after stroke.
