Research Oral Health Knowledge,Attitude,Practice And Oral Health Among Eiderly Patients With Cardiovascular Diseases

Objective:1.Develop a questionnaire on the Oral Health Knowledge,Belief,Practice of the elderly with cardiovascular disease,and test its reliability and validity,Make it applicable to the investigation of oral health knowledge,beliefs and behavior of the elderly cardiovascular patients.2.Investigate the status of oral health knowledge,belief,practice and oral health in elderly cardiovascular patients,analyze the correlation between the two.Provide reference for further discussion of oral health management of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease.Methods:1.Construction of preliminary draft questionnaires through literature review,Communicate with medical staff/patients,and expert consultation.(2)A total of 310 elderly patients with cardiovascular disease were enrolled,and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were tested to form the final version of the"Elderly patients with Cardiovascular Disease Oral Health Knowledge,Belief,Practice Survey questionnaire".2.Clinical investigation and analysis:Using the General Information Questionnaire,"Elderly Patients with Cardiovascular Disease Oral Health Knowledge,Belief,Practic e Survey Questionnaire",and"Brief Oral Health Status Examination",a survey wa s conducted on the general status,Influencing factors of oral health knowledge,beli ef,practice and oral health of 305 elderly patients with cardiovascular disease.Results:1.Reliability and validity of questionnaire:(1)Questionnaire reliability:The overall Cronbach's?of the questionnaire was 0.929,and the Cronbach's?of the three dimensions of knowledge,belief,and behavior were 0.901,0.899,and 0.891,respectively;(2)Questionnaire validity:The final version of the oral health knowledge,belief and practice questionnaire for elderly cardiovascular disease patients has 3 first-level indicators,11 second-level indicators,50 third-level indicators Including 3 dimensions and 50 items,the Item-lever Content Validity Index(I-CVI)of each item is 0.833~1,and the Scale-level Content Validity Index(S-CVI)of the questionnaire level is 0.916;Through exploratory factor analysis,the cumulative explanatory variable of the questionnaire is 70.396%.2.Oral health knowledge,briefs,practice and oral health status of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease:(1)The total score of oral health knowledge of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease is 18 points,and the average score of oral health knowledge is 7.76±4.84,and their knowledge level is relatively low.(2)The total score of belief/attitude of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease was 17 points,and the average score of belief/attitude was 9.22±3.87,and the belief/attitude was at a medium level.(3)The total score of oral health practices of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease is 75 points,and the average score of oral health practices is 35.94±15.18,and the oral health behaviors are poor.(4)Total score of oral health of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease is 20points,with an average score of 7.18±2.68.Oral cleanliness issues was 95.8%,the incidence of dental caries was 90.5%,and the incidence of lymph node problems was8.2%.3.The impact of oral health knowledge,beliefs,and practices on the total score of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease:(1)univariate analysis showed that the level of knowledge,belief,and behavior of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease was affected by age,residence,living form,education level,occupation,and personal month,the differences are statistically significant(X~2=16.937,P<0.01;X~2=73.937,P<0.01;X~2=17.784,P<0.01;X~2=17.102,P<0.01;X~2=69.303,P<0.01;X~2=47.835,P<0.01);(2)Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that age,household registration,living form,personal monthly income,and occupation entered the regression equation,adjusting R~2 to 0.351,indicating that the variables entered into the equation can explain35.1%of the total variation.(3)Correlation analysis:oral health knowledge,attitudes/beliefs,behaviors of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease are negatively related to oral health status(r=-0.255,P<0.01;r=-0.115,P<0.01;r=-0.209,P<0.01).Conclusion:1.The oral health knowledge,beliefs,and practices questionnaire of elderly cardiovascular disease patients has good reliability and validity,and can be used as an evaluation tool for assessing the oral health knowledge,belief,and practice of elderly cardiovascular disease patients.2.Oral health beliefs of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease are at a medium level,but oral health knowledge and behavior are poor;the levels of knowledge,belief,and behavior are affected by age,household registration,living style,personal monthly income,and occupation.3.The oral health status of elderly patients with cardiovascular disease is poor.The higher the oral health knowledge,beliefs and behavior scores of patients,the better their oral health status.
