[Objectives]To develop, evaluate and apply the questionnaire on knowledge, attitude and practice about serum lipids,so as to provide effective tool to intervention on dyslipemia and some suggestions to the local health deparment.[Method](1)The item pool was established, then the preliminary questionnaire on knowledge, attitude and practice about serum lipids was developed.Four methods were used in item selection based on the data investigated with the preliminary questionnaire from 158 people over 40 years old.The questionnaire was evaluated by its reliability and validity. The reliability of the questionnaire was assessed by homogeneity reliability and test-retest data from 60 persons. The validity was assessed through correlation analysis, factor analysis and analysis of variance et al.The scores of KAP among different gender, age groups and education background were obtained by analysis of variance and independent samples t-test.(2)To select all the people of one unit, acquire and analyse these data of serum lipids(TC,LDL-C,HDL-C and TG)and KAP on serum lipids among its 34 volunteers.[Results](1)The questionnaire included 21 items and 3 domains: knowledge, attitude and practice. Its Cronbach's a coefficient were more than 0.7 and retest coefficients were more than 0.8,the Pearson correlate coefficients of all the items to their dimensions were more than 0.61,factor analysis conform to logic relation, and the cumulative varience was 64.111%,the people's KAP about serum lipids was different in education and gender.(2)34 people's average level of TC,LDL-C,HDL-C and TG was 4.65mmol/L,3.00mmol/L,1.15mmol/L and 2.00mmol/L,espectively. The prevalence of dyslipidemia is 29.4%.The scores of knowledge(K), attitude(A)and practice(P)were 18.26,7.85,9.47 and 35.59.The scores of K and A,K and P,A and P had positive correlation(P<0.05).The scores of K had positive correlation with HDL-C and negative correlation with TG (P<0.05).The scores of P had negative correlation with TC and LDL-C, meanwhile it had positive correlation with the level of HDL-C(P<0.05). The scores of KAP had negative correlation with LDL-C(P<0.05).The scores of diet and LDL-C had positive correlation(P<0.05).[Conclusion](1)The questionnaire included 21 items and 3 domains: knowledge, attitude and practice and had good reliability and validity.(2) The KAP on serum lipids correlated closely with the the level of serum lipids. The more knowledge on serum lipids, the higher awareness on dyslipidemia and the more health behaviors, then better serum lipids condition. We should increase people's knowledge on serum lipids, raise theirs awareness on dyslipidemia and promote health behaviors by health educational efforts,so as to decrease the level of serum lipids and the risk of coronary heart diseases.
