Purpose:The purposes of this study are to understand the prevalence of depression among adolescents, analyze their gender and grade differences, investigate the mechanism of parental rearing patterns on adolescents, and examine the mediating effect of parent-child attachment between parental rearing patterns and adolescent depression. So as to provide scientific advice for guiding parents to adopt scientific parenting behaviors and enhancing the parent-child attachment level with teenagers, and provide data support for the formulation of relevant mental health prevention and control policies.Method : 81 adolescent depression patients in the outpatient department and inpatient department of the Mental Health Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were selected as the case group, and 50 age-sex matched adolescents as the normal control group. The Beck depression inventory(BDI),Egna Minnen av Barndoms Uppforstran(EMBU)and Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment(IPPA)were used for measurement.SPSS 26 was used to do descriptive statistics,T-test,variance analysis, correlation, regression, mediating effect and other data analysis.Result:(1)The scores of Beck depression inventory are significantly different in gender and grade(P<0.05).(2)There were significant differences between the case group and the control group in Beck depression inventory level, emotional warmth and understanding of both parents, punishment and severity, refusal to deny,over-protection factor level and parent-child attachment level(P<0.05).(3)The Beck depression inventory scores were significantly negatively correlated with father’s emotional warmth understanding factor, mother’s emotional understanding factor and parent-child attachment(P<0.01),and were significantly positively correlated with father’s over-protection,severe punishment and denial factor, mother’s over-protection,severe punishment and denial factor(P<0.05).(4)The regression equations of mother’s emotional warmth understanding factor and over-protection factor on Beck depression inventory scores were significant with regression coefficients of 0.216 and0.327 respectively(t=-2.253,P<0.05;t=2.492,P<0.05).(5)Parent-child attachment has a complete mediating effect with Beck depression on both father’s and mother’s preference for subjects, witheffect sizes of 0.36 and 0.41 respectively.Conclusion:(1)Mother’s affective warmness understanding factor has significant negative predictive effect on Beck depression inventory score.Maternal over-protection factor has significant positive predictive effect on Beck depression inventory score.(2)Parent-child attachment plays a complete mediating role between Beck depression inventory score and father’s preference for subjects and mother’s preference for subjects. The results suggest that parental rearing styles affect adolescent depression level through parent-child attachment level. |
