Objectives:Investigate the foot problems of the elderly in the community of Chongqing and analyze their influencing factors, and propose and verify the foot intervention nursing strategy.Methods:Part1: Through the staged cluster random sampling method, using the self-made elderly foot problem screening list and foot problem atlas, combined with the interview method,to investigate the occurrence of foot problems of the elderly in a community in Chongqing that meet the inclusion criteria.Part 2: Based on the results of the first part of the study, through literature review and expert panel discussions, formulate nursing strategies for the intervention of the elderly's foot problems, and elders who meet the inclusion criteria in the first part of the research object are divided into experiments Group and control group using computer random sampling. The experimental group adopted the nursing strategy developed by the investigator, and the control group adopted routine nursing. After 6 months of intervention, the prevalence of foot problems between the two groups was compared. Results:Part 1: Effective screening and interviews of 1193 elderly people in the community who met the inclusion criteria. The total prevalence of foot problems in the community in Chongqing was 89.3%,with the highest prevalence of skin problems(78.8%),followed by toenail problems(48.7%),with the lowest structural deformity(33.6%).Only 2.8% of the elderly consulted a doctor on foot problems;age, gender, education, and self-care behaviors were related to the occurrence of foot problems in the elderly.Part II: Formulated a nursing intervention strategy for foot problems in the elderly in the community of Chongqing;350 old people were randomly selected from the old people with foot problems screened in the first part and divided into a control group(175)and In the experimental group(175),after six months of intervention, the prevalence of foot skin problems(p = 0.012),toenails(p <0.001)and foot pain problems(p =0.025)in the elderly in the experimental group was relatively higher The control group decreased significantly, and the daily completion rate of foot self-examination(p =0.045)and foot emollients(p=0.036)in foot self-care behaviors was significantly higher than that of the control group. Conclusion:The overall prevalence of foot problem in the elderly in the community of Chongqing is relatively high and is affected by many factors. However, the elderly pays less attention to foot problems.Nursing intervention can alleviate some of the elderly's foot problems, such as skin, toenails, pain, etc.,but the intervention effect on the elderly's foot structure is not significant. While implementing the nursing intervention strategy, the elderly's self-care behavior has been strengthened.Medical staff play animportant role in preventing, recognizing and caring for the foot problems of the elderly in the community. How to increase the importance of the elderly and their caregivers on foot problems by strengthening foot health education and increasing intervention The effectiveness of foot self-care behaviors to promote the health of the elderly feet is our future research direction.
