540nm Intense Pulsed Light For Treatment Of 317 Cases Of Demodex-Positive Late-stage Rosacea:a Retrospective Analysis

Objective:To retrospectively analyze the efficacy of 540nm intense pulsed light in treating patients with Demodex-positive rosacea at the later stage of rosacea.Methods:A total of 317 cases of Demodex-positive rosacea patients diagnosed in our outpatient department between 2010 Dec.and 2019 May.and treated with540nm intense pulsed light were collected.The wavelength of intense pulsed light was 540nm,the spot size was selected to be 1.5cm~2×4cm~2,the energy density was set to 10 to 16J/cm~2,the pulse width was 12ms,and the pulse interval was 10ms to 15ms;the treatment interval was 4 weeks/time,followed up for 6 months Observe the curative effect,and follow-up for 6 months after the end of the treatment period to count the number of relapses,and analyze the relationship between the number of treatments,the age of the patient,the area of skin lesions and the location and the curative effect.Results:The patients with Demodex-positive rosacea in the late stage of rosacea treated with 540nm intense pulsed light had a cure rate of 62.14%and a total effective rate of 85.17%.There was statistical significance between them(P<0.001);there was no statistical significance between the patient’s age and efficacy(P=0.9165);there was statistical significance between the area of skin lesions and the efficacy of the patients(P<0.001);The distribution in the nose and cheeks is better than that in the palate(P<0.001).During the treatment,a total of 16 patients experienced facial redness and swelling,31 patients experienced facial burning sensation,7 patients experienced small blisters on their faces,and 4 patients experienced hyperpigmentation.After 6 months of follow-up,21 patients with rose acne relapsed.The recurrence rate was 6.62%.Conclusion:The more the number of 540nm intense pulsed light treatments is,the better the effect is;the area of capillary vasodilation in Demodex-positive rosacea patients is inversely related to the effect;in the 540nm intense pulsed light treatment area,the vasodilator skin lesions are distributed in the nose,The treatment effect of the pedicle and buccal area is the best;the age of the patient has no obvious correlation with the effect of 540nm intense pulsed light;Demodex-positive rosacea can be reduced by 540nm intense pulsed light treatment after sequential inertial treatment based on ornidazole tablet.Skin lesions recur and are safe.
