Effect Of Ginger Moxibustion On Ascites And Serum Endotoxin In Patients With Liver Cirrhosis

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of ginger moxibustionon ascites and serum endotoxin in patients with cirrhosis,and to analyze the safety of ginger moxibustion.It can provide useful references to explor new external treatment of TCM for cirrhosis patients.Methods: In a randomized and controlled study,60 patients with ascites due to cirrhosis from June 2018 to November 2019 were divided into two groups: treatment group and control group.The treatment group was treated with ineternal medical treatment with ginger separated moxibustion.The control group was treated with medical treatment only.Before and after treatment,the patients’ clinical symptoms,ascites depth,liver and kidney function,coagulation function,blood routine test,ascites and serum endotoxin were observed.Results: The total effective rate of TCM symptoms in the treatment group and the control group was 90%,66.7% respectively.There was significant difference between the the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05);the total effective rate of abdominal distention in the treatment group and the control group was 86.7%,60% respectively.There was significant difference between the the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05);Before and after the treatment group,the average score of TCM syndrome was lower than that of the control group,and the average score of TCM syndrome was significantly different between the two groups(P<0.05);Before and after the treatment group,the ascites depth of the treatment group was lower than that the control group,and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05);The liver function(TBIL,alt,AST,ALB)of the treatment group and the control group were improved to some extent,but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The percentage of blood routine neutrophils(GR%)in the treatment group was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and there were no significant change in WBC and PLT;Before and after the control group,There were no significant difference in WBC,PLT,GR%(P>0.05).Before and after treatment between two groups,there were no significant difference in renal function(BUN,Cr),K+,coagulation function(PLT,INR,APTT),ascites and serum endotoxin(P>0.05).Conclusion: Ginger moxibustion is effective in the treatment of liver cirrhosis without obvious side effects.But it can not reduce ascites and serum endotoxin.The mechanism of its treatment of ascites may be related to the mechanism other than endotoxin.
