The Clinical Observation Of Huatan Xifeng Decoction On Treating Meniere Disease With Syndrome Of Wind And Phlegm Upper Disturbing

Objective: to observe the improvement degree of the clinical symptoms and signs of meniere disease with syndrome of wind and phlegm upper disturbing treated by Huatan Xifeng Decoction combined with Western medicine,And compare with the control group,objectively evaluate the effectiveness and safety of this prescription,provide reference for clinical practice.Methods:60 patients who with meniere disease with syndrome of wind and phlegm upper disturbing were selected,they were divided into experimental group and control group by simple randomization and non-blind method.In the control group,30 cases of oral Methylprednisolone tablets were combined with Betastatin Mesylate(minshilang),and in the experimental group,30 cases were combined with Huatan Xifeng Decoction on the basis of the above drugs.Evaluation the scores of dizziness handicap inventory(DHI),average hearing threshold,tinnitus evaluation questionnaire(TEQ),TCM integration and individual syndromes before and after treatment in the two groups.Results: 1.Pre-treatment data analysis: Before treatment,the general data of the two groups of patients,such as gender,age and course of disease,were compared,showing no statistical difference(P >0.05),indicating comparability.2.DHI: After treatment,DHI in both the experimental group and the control group decreased compared with the previous group;Compared with other groups,dizziness symptoms in the experimental group were significantly improved,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.01).3.Average hearing threshold: After treatment,the hearing of the experimental group and the control group was improved.Compared with other groups,hearing improvement in the experimental group was more significant,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).4.TEQ: After treatment,TEQ in the experimental group and the control group decreased compared with the previous group;Compared with other groups,tinnitus symptoms in the experimental group were significantly improved,with a statistically significant difference(P <0.05).5.Total score of TCM syndromes: After treatment,the total score of TCM syndromes in both the experimental group and the control group decreased compared with before;Compared with other groups,the improvement of TCM symptoms and signs in the experimental group was more obvious,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).6.Scores of single symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine(main symptoms:dizziness of the head,visual rotation;Secondary symptoms: chest full of evil,vomiting sputum,tinnitus,stuffy ear;Physical signs: tongue coating and pulse): After treatment,all symptoms except physical signs were significantly improved in the experimental group(P< 0.01),while no significant difference was found in chest distress,ear distension and physical signs in the control group(P >0.05).Compared with the experimental group,the symptoms of head dizziness,visual rotation,chest distress,vomiting,sputum,and earbuds were significantly improved in the experimental group(P < 0.01),while there was no statistical difference in the signs after treatment(P >0.05).7.Comparison of total efficacy: After treatment,the total effective rate was 86.67% in the experimental group and 63.33% in the control group.Chi-square test showed that x2=4.356,P=0.037<0.05,the difference was statistically significant.8.Observation of adverse events: No adverse reactions occurred in either group.Conclusion: Huatan Xifeng Ddecoction can effective relieve dizziness,tinnitus,distension in ear and systemic symptom,etc.,which is a new way to treat meniere disease of wind and phlegm upper disturbing.However,large samples and high quality studies are still needed to observe its long-term efficacy and mechanism of action.
