Objective: To investigate the incidence rate of painful symptoms and associated risk factors with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy(painful-DPN)in Xinjiang. Methods: Patients with diabetes in the population of people who were admitted in First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from March 2019 to July 2019 were collected, from which select 240 patients who met the inclusion criteria with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.According to the clinical symptoms, the patients were divided into painless diabetic peripheral neuropathy(painless-DPN group)and painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy(painful-DPN group),the patients’ height, weight,BMI,waist circumference and other general conditions at admission,as well as their personal history, blood glucose and blood lipid were investigated, completed the questionnaire. Results: The incidence rate of painful symptoms in DPN was significantly different among the different groups(P < 0.05).The incidence rate of Uygur(42%)is higher than that of Han(28.4%)and Kazak(16.7%).The standard of culture(middle schools/secondary school OR(95%CI)=2.894(1.450~5.777);primary school and below OR(95%CI)=2.865(1.087~7.550)),blood glucose monitoring,(Regular monitoring OR(95%CI)=1.733(0.746~4.027);Occasional monitoring OR(95%CI)=3.663(1.727~7.768);Don’t monitor OR(95%CI)=5.011(0.842~29.832)),the duration of sick(OR(95%CI)=1.082(1.030~1.137))and fasting blood-glucose(OR(95%CI)=1.146(1.043~1.259))were the risk factors for painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy of each nation. Conclusion:The incidence of painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy pain is different among different ethnic groups,Uygur is higher than han and kazak.Attention should be paid to the monitoring of blood glucose, patients should strengthen the management of their health, enhance the understanding of DPN and the awareness of blood glucose control, reduce the incidence of painful symptoms.
