Investigation And Research On KAP And Health Education Needs Of Inpatients With Echinococcosis In A Third-Class Hospital In Xinjiang

Objectives: To evaluate the status of core knowledge of echinococcosis prevention and control among residents in epidemic areas in China in the past ten years,to investigate the current status of health,education,and health needs of patients with echinococcosis in a tertiary hospital in Xinjiang,and to analyze its influencing factors.Carry out health education and medical staff’s awareness and attitude towards health education,summarize the implementation effects and existing problems of echinococcosis health education over the years,and provide data basis and optimization suggestions for health education of echinococcosis in China.Methods: The major domestic and international knowledge bases and literature databases were searched,and the research literature on the knowledge of core knowledge of echinococcosis control published in China in the past ten years was collected,and the core awareness rate was meta-analyzed;selected by a convenient sampling method From February to December 2019,145 patients with echinococcosis hospitalized in a tertiary hospital in Xinjiang were investigated as questionnaires.SPSS 20.0 software was used to statistically analyze the questionnaires.T-test,analysis of variance,and multiple linear regression models were used.Descriptive statistical analysis and influential factor analysis were performed;Qualitative survey was conducted on 43 hospitals designated for surgical treatment of echinococcosis using semi-structured interviews.Results: 1.Eleven CSS articles(a total of 303,549 patients)were included in the study.After analyzing the past ten years,the knowledge rate of hydatid disease-related core knowledge among residents of China’s echinococcosis endemic areas was 51%(95% CI: 37%~65%);2.The overall score of the knowledge,belief,and behavior questionnaire for patients with echinococcosis is 25.14±3.27,the knowledge dimension is 8.36±3.15,the belief dimension is 4.36±0.84,the behavior dimension is 12.42±1.90,and knowledge,belief,and behavior The good rates of the three dimensions are: 45.52%,97.24%,and 70.34%.After analysis,the influential factors of the patient’s knowledge,trust,and behavior scores are gender,occupation,and education;(3)The total patient demand score is 91.26±4.29,and the knowledge demand score is 28.81±1.98 points,11.51±1.49 points for physiological needs,19.24±2.03 points for safety needs,15.37±2.01 points for belonging needs,10.23±1.40 points for self-esteem needs,and 6.09±1.41 for self-realization needs.According to the analysis,the factors that affect the health education needs of patients are age,residence properties,and economic conditions.Conclusions: The rate of knowledge about echinococcosis prevention and control among residents in China’s hydatid disease endemic areas is low in the past ten years.At this stage,the overall knowledge,beliefs and behaviors of echinococcosis are good,but behavior and knowledge need to be improved.Health education needs of patients is high and the diversity exists;the prevention and control of echinococcosis has been carried out in an orderly manner,but it lacks standardization.The awareness and attitude of medical staff on health education need to be improved.Health education for hydatid disease should be given more attention.Based on the residents’ cognitive status and needs,health education should be carried out with the help of new media.Continuing education and training of medical staff need to be strengthened.
