ObjectivesThe thesis is to describe the status quo of post-traumatic growth of spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies,to explore the influencing factors of post-traumatic growth and its relationship with post-traumatic growth of spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies, and the purpose of the exploration is to provide clinical basis for psychological intervention of spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies and promote their physical and mental health.MethodThis is a cross-sectional study. It was conducted using a questionnaire survey.A convenience sampling method was used to select 259 spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria among spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies hospitalized in two hospitals in Hebei Province for a questionnaire survey.General demographic data and disease data of patients,as well as general demographic data of patients’ spouses and data related to post-traumatic growth level, were collected.Data results were analyzed by using SPSS 19.0.Descriptive statistical analysis was used to describe the general characteristics of patients with gynecological malignancies and their spouses,as well as the status quo of post-traumatic growth of patients’ spouses;one-way analysis of variance and independent-sample t-test were preliminarily used to determine the influencing factors of post-traumatic growth;Pearson correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between general self-efficacy,event-related rumination, and post-traumatic growth;multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of post-traumatic growth of spouses of patients with post-traumatic gynecological malignancies.Results1.A total of 259 questionnaires were distributed and 230 valid questionnaires were collected. The effective recollection rate was 88.80%.2.The average scores of the five dimensions of post-traumatic growth level of spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies from high to low were as follows:appreciation of life,(3.36±1.15),relationship with others(3.00±1.04),mental changes(2.98±1.32),personal strength(2.97±1.21),and search for new possibilities(2.81±1.13);the total score of post-traumatic growth level of spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies was(62.96±21.39),and the total items were all scored(3.00±1.02).3.The total score of self-efficacy was(26.55±6.32).4.The total score of rumination related to the spousal event was(31.16±9.68),and the average score of two dimensions was from high to low:Purposeful Rumination(17.49±6.09),and invasive rumination(13.67±6.58).5.The results of one-way analysis of variance and independent sample t-test showed that the spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies had different age, education level, religious beliefs, spouses’ care time after illness, patients’ age, patients’emotional response, treatment fee payment method, and patients’ self-care ability, and the corresponding spouses had statistically significant differences in post-traumatic growth level(P<0.05).6.Correlation analysis showed that general self-efficacy was positively correlated with the level of post-traumatic growth of the study subjects, with statistical significance(r=0.568,P<0.001).There was a positive correlation between event-related rumination and post-traumatic growth of study subjects, which was statistically significant(r=0.360,P<0.01).There was a positive correlation between purposive rumination and post-traumatic growth of study subjects, with statistical significance(r=0.688,P<0.01).There was no significant correlation between intrusive rumination and post-traumatic growth of study subjects(r=-0.108,P>0.05),but it was negatively correlated with the search for new possibilities dimension and mental change dimension in post-traumatic growth(r=-0.140,-0.162,respectively,P<0.05).7.Multiple stepwise linear regression analysis indicated that the related factors that affected the level of post-traumatic growth of spouses of patients with gynecological malignancies were purposeful rumination, general self-efficacy,invasive rumination, and spouse education level, which explained a total of 59.5%of the variation in the sample overall, including F=85.128,P<0.05.ConclusionThe post-traumatic growth level of the spouses of patients with gynecological malignant tumors during treatment was moderate. Objective Rumination, general self-efficacy,intrusive rumination, and spouse’s educational level were the significant influencing factors of post-traumatic growth.
