Objective: In Clinical,Atrial fibrillation(AF)is one of the most common arrhythmia with high morbidity and mortalit. Its mainly raises the risk of stroke and thromboembolism, heart failure, myocardial infarction, etc. The pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation is still unclear. In addition to the traditionally known risk factors of myocardial infarction, left ventricular hypertrophy, obesity, and drinking.recently, with the development of high-throughput sequencing technologies such as metagenomics and 16 Sr RNA metabolomics, people are In the study of the flora,it was found that the intestinal flora and its metabolites can promote the occurrence and development of cardiovascular disease through various forms, such as trimethylamine oxide(TMAO)and short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)in the intestinal flora.Atherosclerosis, heart failure, and regulation of blood pressure play important roles;TMAO can increase the activity of cardiac autonomic nerves and promote the occurrence and maintenance of atrial fibrillation. Therefore,we aim to study the specificity of intestinal flora and its representative metabolites in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and try to obtain some new findings. Methods: A total of 20 patients with paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation(PAF)and 20 healthy controls were included in this study.Sixty stool samples and 60 blood samples were collected from these individuals.Differences in fecal microbiota were detected and analyzed by 16 S r RNA sequencing.ELASA was used to detect the levels of TMAO and SCFAs in the blood. Results: In PAF patients and healthy controls, there was no significant change in intestinal flora, and there was no significant change in microbial richness and diversity between groups.By comparing the changes of bacterial community before and after cardioversion,it was found that the recovery of sinus rhythm had no effect on the microbial community structure;the metabolite TMAO of bacterial community in the plasma of PAF patients was higher than that in the control group, while the SCFAs was lower than that in the control group,in which the changes of SCFAs were significant and increased in a short period after cardioversion. Conclusion: The abundance and diversity of intestinal microflora in PAF patients are similar to those in normal people, the metabolite TMAO in plasma is higher than that in normal people, and SCFAs is significantly lower than that in normal people. In the early stage of atrial fibrillation, the change of intestinal microflora metabolites may promote the occurrence and development of atrial fibrillation. The attention of intestinal microflora and its metabolites may contribute to the treatment of cardiovascular system in the future.
