Therapeutic Effect Of Auricular Acupressure On The Treatment Of Pruritus In Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effect of auricular acupoint pressing on the symptoms of pruritus in hemodialysis patients,and to find an effective way to improve the skin itching of patients.MethodsFirst of all,via the skin itching symptom questionnaire and itching VAS score to understand the skin itching of maintenance hemodialysis patients in the hemodialysis center of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and collect basic clinical symptoms such as primary disease,age,dialysis duration and biochemical indicators of hemodialysis patients to assess itching status in maintenance hemodialysis patients.Secondly,72 cases of maintenance hemodialysis patients who met the inclusion criteria and excluded the exclusion criteria and agreed to auricular acupuncture were randomly divided into auricular acupoint intervention group and non-auricular point control group,36 cases in each group.Both group received basic treatment.The ear acupuncture intervention group selected ear acupuncture point of lung,wind creek,adrenal gland,endocrine,and Shenmen acupoints according to the pathogenesis of pruritus in Chinese and Western medicine and the cl inical experience of traditional Chinese medicine for a total of 4 weeks cure.Two of the patients were withdrawn from cardio-cerebral vascular disease,one patient was transferred to hospital,34 patients in the auricular intervention group,and 35 patients in the control group completed treatment.Use the skin itching symptom questionnaire and the itching VAS score to evaluate the result of severity of skin itching before and after auricular treatment.Results1.The basic sociodemographic data of the auricular group and the control group were:gender,age distribution,primary disease,duration of hemodialysis;symptoms of itching such as:degree of itching,range of itching,number of times during the night that you wake up because of itching,number of nighttime scratching,itching total score,itching VAS score;laboratory indicators such as:serum protein,hemoglobin,serum calcium,blood phosphorus,parathyroid hormone,creatinine,urea KT/V,the baseline comparison of the two groups P> 0.05,the difference between the two groups is not statistical significance.2.Treatment for 4 weeks,comparison of indicators before and after skin itching symptoms.(1) Degree of itching,range of itching,number of times during the night that you wake up because of itching,number of nighttime scratching,itching total score,itching VAS score of the auricular group were statistically significant before and after treatment (P<0.05).(2) After the conventional treatment,the degree of itching,number of times during the night that you wake up because of itching,number of nighttime scratching,itching total score itching of the control group were statistically significant before and after treatment (P<0.05).The range of itching,itching VAS score were no significant difference in the difference between before and after treatment(P<0.05).(3) Comparing the difference in skin itching symptoms after 4 weeks of treatment (the difference between the two groups of skin itching symptoms=the skin itching index at the end point-the skin itching index at the baseline time),degree of itching,range of itching,the number of times during the night that you wake up because of itching,number of nighttime scratching,itching total score,itching VAS score were statistically significant (P <0.05).ConclusionAuricular acupressure pressure can improve the skin itching symptoms in maintenance hemodialysis patients.
