A Study On Confucianists Participation In Medicine In Yuan Dynasty

Confucianists practicing in medicine is a social phenomenon that can not be ignored in ancient China.As the name implies,Confucianists refer to whose identity were Confucian scholars themselves.For some reason,they turned to learn medicine and turn the career into doctors.Confucianists’ medical practicipation promoted the development of medicine and greatly influenced the change of doctors’ social status.Before Yuan Dynasty,the attitude of Confucianists towards medicine had experienced a change from contempt to intimacy.The phenomenon of Confucianists participation in medicine began to be more common in Song Dynasty.In Yuan Dynasty,Confucianists were also very common in practicing to medicine,and because of the special social environment and political situation,it also showed many particularities.Starting with the characters of Confucian scholars in Yuan Dynasty,this paper investigates the historical situation of Confucianist in different periods,and probes into the reasons,characteristics and social status of Confucian medicine in many aspects.From the aspects of occupational qualification acquisition,occupational choice and occupational place,this paper carries out occupational analysis of Confucian medicine.Although there were many Confucianists participating in medicine in Yuan Dynasty,but their understanding of "medicine is prescription skill" had remained unchanged.The study of Confucianists practicipation in medical in Yuan Dynasty is conducive to understanding the basic situation of Confucianists in Yuan Dynasty and the relationship between Confucianists and doctors from different points,.It will enrich the study of social history and medical history in Yuan Dynasty.
