| Background:In most clinic practices,the idea that vitamin D is an essential regulatory factor in calcium-phophorus metabolism is widely accepted.But in recent years,studies on other physiological effects of vitamin D and its receptors have been great issues,such as genetic transcription,protein regulation,cell differentiation induction etc,which brings an increasing awareness of those potential mechanisms in many diseases,especially in urology diseases.UPJO(Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction)is one of the most common diseases resulting in infant hydronephrosis.Though the exact mechanism is not clear,many cases have provided us with many conclusions about the relationship between vitamin D and UPJO.Based on the data and information we got in our test,we mean to understand the correlation between active vitamin D/VDR(vitamin D receptor)and UPJO,trying to find a new conception and treatment in UPJO.Methods:This article collected 10 children diagnosed UPJO as Group UPJO,and8 children diagnosed renal tumor as Group Controlled during Mar.1st to Oct.31st in Shanghai Children’s Medical Centre.Both of the groups must undergo a blood test on vitamin D before operation and their UPJ samples would be taken during the operation.The samples also might be tested for ELISA about VDR,TGF-βand E-cadherin.Analyzing these date and information,we can draw the conclusion whether vitamin D is related to UPJO or not.Result:All the data are tested in t test,and VDR,TGF-βand E-cadherin,p<0.01,suggesting there is a significant difference between these two group while there is no such relationship between Vitamin D and UPJO.Conclusion:According to the studies above,we can come into the conclusion that only vitamin D in blood may make no sense to the diagnosis and treatment in UPJO.And the correlation between the vitamin D and UPJO is proved to be true in some extent like fibrosis.More studies are supposed to be conducted in the future. |
