An Empirical Study Of The Influence Of Intergenerational Support On The Health Of Middle-aged And Elderly Chronic Patient Groups

Background: With the improvement of economic level,people’s attention to health is also increasing.China has entered an aging society.Chronic diseases have become an important disease that threatens the health of middle-aged and elderly people,and have become a major public health problem affecting the country’s economic development.As far as individuals are concerned,the theory of health needs shows that human health is an investment that can be used to prevent the deterioration of chronic diseases and achieve disease control,thereby avoiding subsequent losses.Research on chronic diseases is critical to achieving healthy ageing.There are many studies on chronic diseases at this stage,but research on intergenerational support for health effects is limited.Objective:This paper aims to understand the reality of chronic diseases in China by studying the current status of chronic diseases in middle-aged and elderly people;to understand the status quo of intergenerational support,to analyze the differences of intergenerational support,and to explore the health effects of intergenerational support on the chronic disease group of middle-aged and elderly people.Provide a basis for strategies and policies for improving the health of the chronic patient population and improving the quality of life.Method: Through the review of relevant literatures on chronic diseases and intergenerational support at home and abroad,to understand the current research status of middle-aged and elderly chronic diseases and related content of intergenerational support.It analyzes the indicators,theories and data analysis methods,summarizes the research contents,and finds the deficiencies in the research.Apply a descriptive analysis method to the China Health and Pension Tracking Survey(CHARLS)data to describe the current status of elderly patients with chronic diseases and intergenerational support.The analysis of the intergenerational support differences in insurance and pensions is a comprehensive reflection of the current status of intergenerational support in the context of growing family pensions.Multivariate analysis was used to analyze the effects of intergenerational support on self-assessment of health,life satisfaction,daily activity(ADL)and depression in middle-aged and elderly patients.Finally,combined with the analysis of the current situation of chronic diseases and intergenerational support,the policy analysis of chronic diseases and the empirical analysis of the impact of intergenerational support on the health of chronic patient groups,put forward recommendations on policies and strategies for achieving healthy aging.Results:Through descriptive research,understand the basic health status and intergenerational support of chronic patient populations.The median financial support is 3000-3999 yuan,the median frequency of contact is once a week,and the median frequency of visits is once every half month.However,there are still no economic support for the survey population,and the frequency of contact visits by children is less than once a year.Through logistic regression studies,understand the impact of intergenerational support on the health of chronic patient populations.In the intergenerational support,the population with less financial support is 1.28 times more likely to be depressed than the economically supportive group;children rarely contact the population with difficulty in self-care ability,which is 1.21 times more frequently associated with the population;children often visit the population for self-assessment.Sex is 1.16 times.Conclusions: Intergenerational support is positively correlated with the health of chronically ill patients in the elderly.People with less financial support are more likely to be depressed;those with high frequency of visits have better self-evaluation;those with higher frequency of contact have better self-care ability.It can be seen that intergenerational support has a positive effect on the health of chronic patient groups,and good intergenerational support is conducive to the health of chronic patient groups.Guided by government policies,the media publicizes “often go home to see”,play a role in the realization of healthy aging in the community,and strengthen the self-management of chronic patient groups to improve physical and mental health,thus achieving healthy aging.
