The Ethical Dimension Of Surrogacy Technology Application

Surrogacy technology is born from the rapid development of human assisted reproduction technology,which helps countless infertile families realize the wish of raising offspring and greatly improves people’s happiness and life quality.However,surrogacy technology has brought great impact on the traditional conception of child-bearing for thousands of years,and caused a series of ethical problems in the application process.Based on the justification from ethical basis and ethical regulations conferring ethical conflicts,we can effectively promote the healthy and orderly development of surrogacy technology.The results have important theoretical and practical significance for infertility groups and social morality.Firstly,thecurrent study discusses the medical and moral significance of infertile women from the perspective of life quality and value.In the dialectical unity of deontology and teleology,the theoretical foundation of surrogacy technology application is analyzed.In terms of reproductive rights,surrogacy technology exhibits the free choice of reproductive mode and reproductive rights from the behavioral agent.In the view of humanism,surrogacy technology maintains the dignity of life and embodies the people-oriented value pursuit.Secondly,the development of science and technology serves human beings,which determines the extremely important social value of surrogacy.In the process of technical application and innovation,it is inevitable to trigger both positive and negative effects.Following the development track of surrogacy technology,we discusses the ethical contradictions caused by it.The results include the impact on the concept of natural fertility and the challenge to the sacred view of life;the conflict with traditional marriage and family blood relationship leads to the instability of family structure and the confusion of ethical relationship;the exploitation of rights and interests causes social problems such as instrumentalization and commercialization of surrogate mothers.The comprehensive analysis of the above issues will help us put forward reasonable and effective ethical regulations.Finally,this study examines surrogacy technology from the perspective of the bioethical principles.Weconfirm its rationality and positive social significance,and propose a series of ethical regulations based on the ethicalprinciples.Firstly,the ultimate goal surrogacy technology is to benefit the public and mankind,and pursuethe unity of scientific rationality and value rationality.Secondly,as for the subject of surrogacy technology executor,it is necessary to take "benevolence" as the moral orientation and "wisdom" as the basis to improve the surrogacy technology level.Thirdly,for surrogacy objects,the admittance criteria should be strictly defined to maintain the fairness of medical resources.We should also strictly stipulatethe rules and regulations on the behavior of surrogate mothers in order to safeguard their own rights and interests.Fourthly,it is necessary to strengthen the function of the ethics committee as China’s surrogacy laws and regulations still need to be improved.We hope the committee can provide effective moral review on surrogacy technology applications,reduce the ethical conflicts,and enable this technology to benefit people legally as soon as possible.
