| Objectives: By analyzing the current situation of ambulatory surgery and its impact on medical efficiency in a tertiary hospital in Shaanxi Province,the study researches on the operation status,surgery effects,and operating benefits with ambulatory surgery,explores the operation mode of ambulatory surgery,and statistical analyses the large sample data of surgical patients.Pinpoint the value of ambulatory surgery for improving medical efficiency,which may propound constructive suggestions for hospital management.Methods: Firstly,search and analysis literature by CNKI and PubMed to learn the theory and progress of ambulatory surgery.Secondly,interview the manager of ambulatory surgery in various departments to sort out the current situation.Thirdly,send questionnaires to patients for analyzing the patients’ satisfaction.Lastly,analysis the data of 12837 patients undergoing 9 kinds of operations by SPSS 22.0 with logistic analysis and non-parametric test for exploring the correlation between ambulatory surgery and operating benefits.Results: Firstly,the research team cooperated with gastrointestinal surgery department to design an ambulatory surgery procedure,organizational structure and painless ward management path.Secondly,the quality and safety of ambulatory surgery and normal surgery are basically the same.Thirdly,the questionnaire survey showed that the patients were satisfied with ambulatory surgery in each department,all of which had 4.4 points or more.The main reason for selecting ambulatory surgery was a doctor’s advice,accounting to 67.8% of the respondents.The highest score was for the medical service,which was4.62 points.Furthermore,length of stay was discovered being affected by ambulatory surgery and age,P<0.05.Hospitalization expenses per visit were affected by ambulatory surgery,gender and age,P<0.05.Hospitalization expenses per day were affected by ambulatory surgery,gender,age and payment method,P<0.05.The most important factor that could be intervened is ambulatory surgery undertaking.Lastly,ambulatory surgery can reduce average length of stay in each surgery type,P <0.05.Hospitalization expenses per visit is lower or similar to non-day surgery,while hospitalization expenses per day is higher than non-day surgery,P <0.05.Conclusions: Reasonable ambulatory surgery operation mode,organizational structure and scientific painless management are important factors to ensure the quality and safety in ambulatory surgery and also the prerequisite for patients’ satisfaction.A mature ambulatory surgery can effectively shorten the average length of stay,reduce patients’ hospitalization expenses,increase hospital operating benefits,and improve medical efficiency. |
