Study On The Relationship Between Urinary Iodine Level And Thyroid Disease Of Children | Posted on:2020-10-15 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:W Feng | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2404330590998569 | Subject:Clinical medicine | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Objective: To study the difference of median urinary iodine(MUI)between the children with thyroid problems and the healthy individuals and to explore the influence of the different urinary iodine on the morbidity of the thyroid disease.To explore if there is linear influence relation between the urinary iodine and the volume of the thyroid,the thyroid function index.Methods: From May 2018 to February 2019,a total of 51 outpatients of the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University were included.A total of 202 heathy individuals who came to the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University for health examination were selected.Collected their morning urine to detect the urinary iodine,and analyzed the difference of the MUI between the observation and the control group.Analyzed the morbidity of the thyroid disease in different urinary iodine groups according to the result of the urinary iodine,.Results: 1.The proportion of males and females with thyroid problems was about 1:5,and the age range was mostly 6 years old to prepuberty and prepuberty to 18 years old.2.There were no significant differences of MUI between the different sex and age ranges(P<0.05).3.The MUI of the simple goiter group was lower than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The MUI was no significant difference between the Graves disease group,Hashimoto thyroiditis and the control group(P>0.05).4.The MUI of the hyperthyroidism group was lower than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The MUI was no significant difference between the hypothyroidism group and the control group(P>0.05).5.The proportion of the patients with GD or HT in the normal urinary group was lower than the low urinary group and the high urinary group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The proportion of the GD or HT was no significant different between the urinary group and the high urinary group(P>0.05).Theproportion of the patients with hyperthyroidism in low urinary iodine group was higher than normal urinary iodine group,and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The proportion of the patients with thyroid dysfunction was no significant different between the high urinary iodine group and the low or normal urinary iodine group(P>0.05).6.There was no significant difference between the various thyroid nodule groups in the observation group(P>0.05).7.There was no correlation between the urinary iodine and the length,width,thickness and volume of the patients’ thyroid(P>0.05).8.There was no correlation between the urinary iodine and free three iodine armour gland original acid(FT3),thyroid stimulating hormone(FT4),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),thyroglobulin antibody(Tg Ab),thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb)and thyrotropin receptor antibodies(TRAb)of the patients(P>0.05).Conclusion: 1.The MUI in different sex or age range was in the normal range with no difference.2.The MUI of children with simple goiter and hyperthyroidism was lower than healthy individuals and there was no difference of the MUI between the healthy children and the children with GD,HT and hypothyroidism.3.The morbidity of the thyroid disease is lowest in the children with the normal urinary iodine.Low urinary iodine might increase the morbidity of the goiter and hyperthyroidism in children and high urinary iodine could not influence the morbidity of the thyroid disease.4.There was no difference of the MUI among the children with various thyroid nodule.5.There was no linear influence relation between the urinary iodine and the volume of the thyroid,the thyroid function index. | Keywords/Search Tags: | urinary iodine, thyroid disease of children, Graves disease, Hashimoto thyroiditis, thyroid goiter | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
