Progress In Diagnosis And Treatment Of Intrauterine Adhesion

Intrauterine adhesion(IUA)is a consequence of trauma,infection or other causes to the damage of endometrium which leads to partial or complete obliteration in the uterine cavity and/or the cervical canal,resulting in clinical manifestations such as menstrual abnormalities,secondary infertility,recurrent spontaneous abortion and so on.Hysteroscopy is the standard for diagnosis of IUA because it has the advantage of direct visualization of adhesions.Transcervical resection of adhesion(TCRA)has become the conventional surgery for the treatment of IUA with the development of gynecological minimally invasive technology.Hormone treatment,setting physical barriers up,amniotic membrane transplantation(AMT)and stem cells treatment for the postoperative patients can improve their menstruation,prevent re-adhesion and promote fertility.However,there is no effective therapeutic strategies for preventing re-adhesion and achieving the desire of pregnancy for at home and abroad.This is a review about IUA including the etiology,clinical manifestation,diagnosis,classification and treatment.Early prevention,early diagnosis and treatment should be adopted for the patients.
