Intertextuality Of Medical Discourse In The Media

Health and wellness have become a topic of increasing popularity in people’s lives.Medical science has gradually entered the public life,and there are more and more medical discourses in society.As a professional term,medical discourse has been transformed into popular discourse in more and more obvious forms.It exists widely in written materials,oral communication and various social discourse practices,embodying a series of medical-related values and thinking patterns.The medical concept led by the government and experts has become the main body of mainstream medical discourse communication,which constitutes the mainstream medical discourse practice and communication practice.This study takes Sichuan Daily and Huaxi Hospital WeChat public account as examples,and selects 10 texts of the same or similar topics in the past two years,a total of 20 samples,using Fairclough’s explanation of intertextuality theory.From the two aspects of "exclusive intertextuality" and "interdiscursivity" in the sample,the discourse description,preassumption,negation,meta-discourse and irony forms in exclusive intertextuality were analyzed,and the genre,discourse Angle and style of interdiscursivity were compared and analyzed.At the same time,it complements the research theory of interdiscursivity,generalizes the intertextuality in the samples through qualitative and quantitative analysis methods,and studies the construction mode of medical discourse of different communication subjects and the generated meaning behind it by combining the connection between discourse practice and the communication of professional knowledge culture.Through research,it is found that the news media mainly describes the construction of medical discourse,interviews both doctors and patients and relays the discourse of both parties,and makes reasonable direct and indirect citations,showing clear intertextuality.Authoritative medical institutions mainly explain the construction of medical discourse,interpret professional terminology as metaphorical and other everyday communication terms,and construct medical discourse texts with rich genre and discourse style.Inserting other texts between medical discourse texts requires a certain internal order and rules.This kind of rule order is related to the power problem.The author then discusses intertextuality in the discourse from the two levels of the text’s transmitter and audience.The dissemination function and the power form behind intertextuality.
