Objective: Using rabbit orbicularis oculi muscle(OOM)electromyography(EMG)instrument to collect the electromyographic signal of different sites and different motion state and we can preliminarily study the EMG features.Through restoring the electromyographic signal with the MATLAB,we could further study the relationship of orbicularis oculi muscle electromyographic signals between the different loci and the different motion states,soit can provide a best implantation site for artificial facial nerve operation and the experimental reference basis.Methods :Animal experiment: This part used EMG instrument to collect and record electromyographic signals from 11 healthy New Zealand white rabbit orbicularis oculi muscle eyes at all four sites(the middle of upper eyelid,the middle of lower eyelid,inner canthus,outer canthus)and four motion states(natural opened eyes,natural closed eyes,natural blink,evoked blink),and analyze the EMG features.Signal analysis: This part used EMG instrument to collect and record electromyographic signals of four sites(the middle of upper eyelid,the middle of lower eyelid,inner canthus,outer canthus)in orbicularis oculi muscle when the 11 healthy New Zealand white rabbit eyes respectively were in four states of motion(natural opened eyes,natural closed eyes,natural blink,evoked blink).Then the EMG signal was transcoded by the Language programming and signal processing through MATLAB software.The data of electromyographic signals in different states and sites including the same sites of four motion state,the same motion state of four sites,the same sites and motion state of hibateral eyes were analyzed by MATLAB software.Results : Animal experiment: EMG signals of 11 rabbit orbicularis oculi muscle,in the condition of various kinds of sports and loci,were measured and collected by EMG.The amount of EMG signals was 352.The experiment showed that the artificial facial nerve for implantation site is determined through the preliminary research on the electromyography.Signal analysis: The time-amplitude signal amplitude has no significant difference in the sites including the middle of upper eyelid,the middle of lower eyelid,inner canthus,outer canthus,between natural blink and evoked blink(P>0.05).The time-amplitude signal amplitude has significant difference between natural blink and naturally closed eyes(P<0.05).The time-amplitude signal amplitude showed significant difference in various condition sports of same sites(P<0.01).The timeamplitude signal amplitude of the same sites between right side and left side,in the condition including natural blink,naturally closed eyes,evoked blink,showed no significant difference(P>0.05).But the timeamplitude signal amplitude of outer canthus between right side and left side,in the condition of natural blink,showed significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Electromyographic signal characteristics of four sites of rabbit orbic ularis oculi muscle,measured and collected in four motion state,were respectively different.The change of time-amplitude signal was stable in upper eyelid and lower eyelid.The experiment showed that upper eyelid and lower eyelid were suitable implantation sites for artificial nerve.The reduction of the amplitude of the EMG signal can be a reference for the experiment of artificial nerve implantation.
