| Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of navel needle and traditional acupuncture in the treatment of cervical stagnation caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis,by randomized controlled trial. Methods:According to the diagnostic criteria and inclusion criteria,60 patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis type cervical spondylosis were randomly divided into navel needle group and control group,30 cases in each group. The control group acupuncture Neck EX-B2,HT6,BL17,BL10,GB20,LI11,SJ5,ashi point.Navel needle group acupuncture navel, acupoint based on the navel hologram, acupuncture LI,KAN,KUN,QIAN.The course of treatment were 4 weeks,3 times a week. Before initial treatment,at the end of treatment, and 1 month of follow-up,all patients have completed the Northwick Park Neck Pain Scale(NPQ),and scored the Pain Rating Index(PRI),Visual Simulation McGill The scale(VAS)and the existing pain intensity(PPI)in International Simplified McGill Scale.Refer to the standard of "Diagnostic Efficacy Standards for TCM Syndrome" to evaluate the efficacy. The scores of the two groups were used to evaluate the efficiency.Statistical analysis of the data was performed using SPSS 20.0 software.Categorical data is calculated by chi-square test or exact method.Measurement data in two groups, were compared by t-test if the normal distribution and the homogeneity of the variance are satisfied, not meet samples were compared using rank sum test.Repeated measures analysisof variance was used for intra-group comparison.A test level of 0.05,two sided test.Results:1.Baseline comparison:The demographic data were compared between the navel needle group and the control group, with gender(P=0.729),age(P=0.868),disease duration(P=0.783),and education(P=0.735).There were no significant differences in these aspects(p>0.05).The two groups were homogeneous and comparable. In terms of efficacy measures, before the treatment, the scores in the NPQ scale(P=0.469),the PRI scale(P=0.697),the VAS scale(P=0.299)and the PPI scale(P=0.257).The two groups were homogeneous and comparable.2.After treatment, the NPQ scores of 2 groups showed a decreasing trend, and the clinical symptoms in both groups were significantly improved. After treatment,As a result, there was no significant difference in NPQ scores between the the navel needle group and the control group(P=0.155,P>0.05);the clinical efficacy of the navel needle group was similar to that of the control group. At 1 month of follow-up,the NPQ score of the navel needle group was lower than another one, there was statistically significant(P<0.05).The long-term efficacy was significantly higher than that of the control group. Before and after treatment, the values of NPQ in 2 groups were different(P<0.05).All results suggest that both therapies can relieve the neck pain to a certain extent,in the long-term efficacy, the navel needle group is better than the control group.3.After treatment, the PRI,VAS,and PPI scores of the International Simplified McGill Scale showed a downward trend after treatment in both groups.there was no significant difference in PRI and VAS scores between the navel needle group and the control group(P>0.05),and there was a significant difference in PPI score(P=0.019,P<0.05).There was no significant difference between 2 groups(P>0.05).Above all,the clinical efficacy between the navel needle group and the control group was basically consistent in the international simplified McGill scale.4.After treatment, the navel needle group was 96.67%,and the control group was 93.33%.Conclusion:Patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis type cervical spondylosis were treated by navel needle or traditional acupuncture to observe the improvement of symptoms. The results indicated that they all have certain clinical effects shown on the NPQ scale and the internationally simplified McGill scale. There were significant differences between 2 groups before and after treatment. It can be considered that the navel needle and the traditional acupuncture all effective. After the treatment, the efficacy was evaluated by the Scores of NPQ,PRI,and VAS.The results indicated that there was no significant differences. It can be considered that the effect of navel needle in relieve clinical symptoms is comparable to that of traditional acupuncture. After treatment and 1 month follow-up,the PPI score was significantly different between 2 groups(P<0.05).After 1 month of follow-up,the NPQ score of the navel needle group was lower than anther one,and the difference was significant.(P<0.05).Thence,compared with traditional acupuncture, the navel needle group was better than the control group in terms of long-term efficacy and existing pain relief. To cure cervical spondylosis by navel needle, pain relief effect is better, less needles,is better to relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, worthy of clinical promotion and application. |
