There are around 100 million diabetes patients in China currently,and the number of these patients is increasing every year,which leads to the contradiction between the huge disease control demand and the tense medical resource supply.The popularity and development of Internet has provided opportunities to explore the new management model of chronic disease.On this occasion,the diabetes management community came into being and flourished.Peer support,as a theoretical method which has the feature of strong applicability,has been extensively utilized in the management of chronic disease,and its effectiveness has been verified pervasively,however,it also has the limitations of small impact range and neglect of patient participation appeal.Therefore,in this paper,I will introduce the methods and models of peer support in the design of diabetes network community through the perspective of service design,so as to enhance the service experience of patients,promote the benign interaction among patients,and finally improve the effectiveness of disease management and construct a sustainable service system via utilizing design concepts and means.In this paper,I will firstly summarize the application methods and mechanisms of peer support in disease management through literature and case studies,and then analyze the limitations of its application in order to provide some guidance and reference to the design afterwards.By comparing the current development and design conditions of the existing mainstream diabetes network community,I clarify the value and opportunity of the diabetes network community on the basis of peer support.Next,I conduct a study on the series users with the participation demand of diabetes management and peer support service,and do the analysis on the research data and materials through multi-dimensions,including:the disease management requirement for ordinary diabetes patients;the definition of four participation segments of peer support service online;the analysis on the demand of mutual assistance among patients;and the classification of three types of user portraits.Based on the research results listed above,the design opportunity points are derived:(1)to construct a continuous operating service mechanism;(2)to establish a complete experience procedure for participation service of peer support;(3)to design a mutual assistance model among patients which can meet the demand of disease management and which is suitable for the network community;(4)to improve the availability of core contact points.And then,according to the opportunity points mentioned above,I produce the design scheme,and make the introspection on the scheme by user testing and feedback collection.Finally,the design strategy is put forward.The design strategy put forward in this paper includes details of four levels:(1)to propose the design strategy of construction of a sustainable service system to service provider;(2)to plan a complete experience procedure of peer support service which is suitable online;(3)to design three modes of online peer support service which can match personalized demands and fit the network community;(4)to propose the design strategy for the usability for mobile interface-the key contact point of the service.
