| Objective:Apolipoprotein E is widely involved in the process of lipoprotein synthesis and metabolism. It is considered to be highly related to the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease. However, some researches show that there is some controversy in this argument. Methods:A total of 30 published studies were selected for meta-analysis,including 11,804 patients with coronary heart disease and 17,713 controls. Results:Compared with the wild type ApoEE3/3 genotype, the variants of ApoEE3/4 and ApoEE4/4 increased the risk of coronary heart disease by 22%and 45%(E3/4 vs E3/3:OR 1.22,95%CI = 1.15-1.29;E4/4 ratio E3/3:OR = 1.45,95%CI = 23-1.71).In addition, the risk of coronary heart disease increased by 46%(OR = 1.46,95%CI =1.28-1.66)compared with the allele ε3,the allele s2 was not significantly reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. In the analysis of the population, the allele s4 increased the risk of coronary heart disease by 25%(OR = 1.25,95%CI = 1.11-1.41),and this effect was more pronounced in the Mongolians(OR = 2.29,95%CI = 1.89-2.77).The allele s2 has the effect of reducing the risk of coronary heart disease in Caucasians(OR=0.84,95%CI=0.74-0.96)and no effect in the Mongolians. Conclusion:Mutation of the allele ε4 increases the risk of coronary heart disease, while the allele ε2 reduces the risk of coronary heart disease in Caucasians. |
