Objective:The purpose of this study was to provide a more effective treatment for clinical acupuncture treatment of constipatioon by observing and evaluating the clinical efficacy of relieving the Dispersing the stagnated Liver-Qi and regulating the Spirit acupuncture for stroke constipation.Methods:Sixty patients with stroke constipation that meet the criteria of diagnosis and inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,with 30 cases in each group.The acupuncure method by dispersing the stagnated Liver-Qi and regulating the Spirit group,to select points including Baihui(DU 20)and Yintang(DU 29),sishencong(EX-HN 1),shenting(DU 24),benshen(GB 13),Neiguan(PC 6),Taichong(LR 3),Zhongwan(RN 12),Zusanli(ST 36),Tianshu(ST 25).The control group used conventional acupuncture.The acupoints included Dachangshu(BL 25),Tianshu(ST 25),Guilai(SY 29),Zhongwan(RN 12)and Qihai(RN 6).During the course of treatment,the patient’s condition was closely observed,and the scores of the two groups of patients before and after treatment were recorded,including the symptoms of constipation symptoms self-assessment questionnaire(PAC-SYM)and constipation symptom assessment forms.The differences in the scores were analyzed for the improvement of constipation symptoms before and after treatment in two groups of patients.Results:Before and after treatment,two groups in the scores of patients with symptoms of constipation symptoms self-assessment questionnaire(PAC-SYM)and constipation symptom assessment were significantly different(P < 0.05).Comparision about constipation symptoms self-assessment questionnaire(PAC-SYM)and constipation symptom assessment among groups before treatment and follow-up shows significant difference(P<0.05);After treatment,the total effective rate of relieving the Dispersing the stagnated Liver-Qi and regulating the Spirit acupuncture group was 96.66%,which was no significant difference compared with 90% of conventional acupuncture treatment group’s total effective rate(P>0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture Method by Dispersing the stagnated Liver-Qi and regulating the Spirit and regular acupuncture method were both effective methods to treat the patients of stroke constipation disoder.But,compared the two methods,the acupuncture method by Dispersing the stagnated Liver-Qi and regulating the Spirit were more effective in clinical than the regular acupuncture thera py.This treatment method is worthy of clinical application,because the number of follow-up recurrences of the group method by Dispersing the stagnated Liver-Qi and regulating the Spirit is lower than the number of the control group,and the overall efficacy is better.
