| Objective: This research is based on traditional Chinese breathing exercises, and the main research objective is stroke with pulmonary dysfunction. The main method to treat the dysfunction is "Six-character Formula Respiratory Gymnastics".The research is used to explore the effect which is the clinical efficacy by six-character formula respiratory gymnastics and to provide the new scientific evidence for clinical practice. Methods: Patients with stroke who were recruited were in the second affiliated hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.68 patients were divided into an experimental group with "Six-character Formula Respiratory Gymnastics" and a control group with the routine rehabilitation by random methods, which included 34 patients in each group. Both groups were treated with medical treatment, routine rehabilitation and occupational therapy,5 times a week in 3 months. The experimental group also used the "Six-character Formula Respiratory Gymnastics".The evaluation of the research included the pulmonary function effects(FVC、FEV1、PEF),breathing rate,st George′s respiratory questionnaire(SGRQ)scores, the MRC dyspnea(m MRC)during 3 months. Results: It was revealed by pulmonary function effects, breathing rate,SGRQ scores,m MRC index score that the patients had no significant differences before the research. There were significant increase in experimental group(P<0.05),and also has significant increase in control group(P<0.05).And there were significant differences between two group(P<0.05).However,the breathing rate of two groups has no significant differences during 3 months(P>0.05).After 3 months training, there were significant increase SGRQ index score in both groups(P<0.05).But there were no significant differences between two groups(P>0.05).After 3 months training,m MRC index score has no significant differences both in two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: The pulmonary function effects of "Six-character Formula Respiratory Gymnastics" on patients with stroke is significant. The quality of life and the ability of daily life has improved to some extent. However, the breathing rate and m MRC have no significant improvement during the 3 months. |
