ObjectiveTo discuss the effect of ultrasonic micro-arc-oxidation-polydopamine-cyclo polypeptides on the surface of titanium alloy implants on early bone binding.MethodsThe 24 titanium alloy implants(Ti6Al4V)were divided into three groups,group A was titanium alloy ultrasonic micro-arc-oxidation group(8 cases),group B was titanium alloy ultrasonic micro-arc-oxidation-polydopamine group(8 cases),and group C was titanium alloy ultrasonic micro-arc-oxidation-polydopamine-cyclo polypeptides(8 cases).12 healthy rabbits were selected to this experiment,and 24 sterile implants were implanted in the left mandibular of rabbits,each rabbit had 2 implants implanted with the same material,experimental animals were killed at 2、4 and 8 weeks after implantation.After air embolization killed the animals,all the specimens were examined by CBCT within 24 hours.9 specimens(3 of each group)in 8 weeks were taken to record the maximum force.The remaining specimens were placed in the neutral formalin solution for one week,then rinsed with water,and the specimens were cut into 1 x 2cm bone blocks,and dehydration of the bone blocks with alcohol,embedding.By ceramic cutting machine,the bone blocks were cut into 200-280 m slices,and then manually grinding to 50-80 m,to observe with scanning electron microscopy and element analysis.Results1.General observation results showed that no animal died during and after operation,rabbits were awake in 1h after operation,and a small amount of food and drinking water were available,the mental state was well,and no signs of infection were found.When the materials were taken,there were no implant loosening,and implants was partly covered with bone tissuea,it was most obvious in 8weeks.CBCT results showed that the low density images of the implants in 8 weeks were significantly less than those of the implants in 2 and 4 weeks.In the same weeks,the bone density of implants in group C was higher than that in group A and group B.Torsion test results showed that group C > group B > group A(P < 0.05),it indicated that group C had better osseointegration ability than group A and group B,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).SEM and elemental analysis of implants surface in 4 weeks showed that there were visible film between implants and the bone tissue,the film of group C was thicker than group A and group B.Ca,P,Ti,Si and O elements could be seen on the interface between implant and bone tissue.Group C had a lot of Ca and P elements in implant and interface,a few Ca and P elements in the implant and interface of group B,no obvious Ca and P element were found in group A.The elements of Ti and Si were increased in the bone tissue,group C was the most obvious,the next was group B,and the least was group A.Conclusions1.The titanium alloy micro-arc-oxidation-polydopamine-cyclo polypeptides increased the Ca and P elements which were favorable for bone growth.2.At 8 weeks of implantation,the bone binding ability of titanium alloy micro-arcoxidation-polydopamine-cyclo polypeptides was the strongest,titanium alloy micro-arcoxidation-polydopamine was the second,and titanium alloy micro-arc-oxidation was the least.
