objective: To test the wideband absorbance(WBA)of normal hearing pre-school aged children and analyse the characteristic of WBA,and to provide the normal values for the clinical application of WBA.Methods: 614 normal children(aged 2-6 years)were selected.They were characterized that normal outer and middle ears evidenced by auriscope,and tympanometry presented with “A”,transient otoacoustic emission(TEOAE)were passed.WBA test was conducted then the features of at different frequencies were analysed.The effect of pressure in ear canal,genders and sides on WBA were studied using SPSS 22.0.Results: The WBA increases with the increase of frequency,reaches the maximum value near 4490 Hz,and then decreases to 8000 Hz at 5657 Hz.At all frequencies the differences between ambient and peak pressure were statistically significant(P<0.05)besides 2000 Hz.The differences were not statistically significantly in different sides.While the different gender on WBA were statistically significant at low-mid frequencies(226-2000Hz),differences among other frequencies were not statistically significant.Conclusion: The trend of WBA-frequency in normal hearing preschool aged children is “M”in asymmetric.The frequency,pressure of ear canal and gender can affect the WBA,while the sides were not statistically significant.
