Objective: To summarize the correlation between clinical features and surgery resection degree of Tuberculum sellea meningiomas,to explore the correlative influence factor to surgical resection of Tuberculum sellea meningiomas. Methods: In this syudy,we retrospectively analyzed clinical records of 76 patients who have undergone TSM resection operation with pterional approach in the first hospital of China Medical University recent 5 years. We want to draw the correlative factors through analyzing the correlation between age, gender, tumor texture, tumor size, course time, location with other structures and tumor resection degree.Simpson system for grading the extent of meningioma resection was used for grading.Chi-square test and one-way analysis of variance was used to analyze the influence factors through SPSS19.0 statistical software. Results: In this study, all 76 patients underwent surgical resection with pterional approach(54 females,22 males;33-77 years, mean age 55.7 years).Tumor size:1.6-6.3cm,the course time:0.3-96 months, postoperative pathology:(WHO Ⅰ :72patients,WHOⅡ:4 patients).Gross total removal of tumor is achieved in 61 cases and subtotal achieved in 15 cases.According to the results of one-way analysis of variance,we conclude that Tumor size(P=0.001)and the course time(P=0.010)are the influence factors,gender(P=0.878)is not the influence factors.According to Chi-square test and fisher,s exact test,we conclude that tumor texture(P=0.045),tumor infiltration with different structures(P=0.033)are the influence factors, gender is not the influence factors. Conclusion: Onset age of Tuberculum sellea meningiomas is mostly over 55 years old and pathology of TSMs focus on WHOⅠ.Tumor size, course time, tumor texture and tumor infiltration with surrounding structures can affect the extent of tumor resection. In the case of infiltration, tumor infiltrated with optic nerve only has the highest GTR,tumor infiltrated with ICA is the second one,and tumor infiltrated with optic chiasma hasthe lower GTR. |
