Objective(s):To evaluate the effect of comprehensive intervention therapy on schizophrenia, and to explore the relationship between the change of serum FGF-2 concentration and the curative effect of the patients with schizophrenia before and after treatment. Methods:The subjects were schizophrenic patients who were hospitalized in the psychiatric department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from 2016 to 2017,which were met the diagnostic criteria of ICD-10 schizophrenia,140 cases were randomly divided into a comprehensive intervention group and a simple drug treatment group. The healthy control group was from 82 health persons in the medical center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University.General demographic data were collected for schizophrenics and healthy people, and schizophrenic patients were evaluated by positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS)and social functional defect screening scale(SDSS).The patients in the simple drug treatment group were only treated with antipsychotic drugs, and the patients in the integrated intervention group were given mental health education, family intervention and cognitive behavior therapy besides antipsychotic drugs.Mental health education and family intervention were completed within 3 months after the enrollment,1-2 times/week,and 8 treatments,1 time/week,4 treatments respectively, each time about 30-45 minutes.Cognitive behavior intervention was treated in fourth, fifth, and sixth months, one times respectively, each time about 60 minutes. All patients were evaluated by PANSS and SDSS scales again at the end of sixth months. At the same time,enzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to determine the concentration of FGF-2 in the serum of patients and healthy controls at baseline, and the concentration of FGF-2 in 54 patients after 6 months treatment. The evaluation of the therapeutic effect includes two aspects of mental symptoms and social functions.Results:1?At baseline, the total score of PANSS scale, subscales and SDSS scores in the comprehensive intervention group were not significantly different from those in the simple medication group(p>0.05);In the sixth months after admission, the total score of PANSS,the subscales and the total score of SDSS in two treatment groups were significantly lower than those at baseline(p<0.05),And the scores of the comprehensive intervention group were lower than those of the simple drug treatment group, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05);2?There was no statistically significant correlation between PANSS reduction rate and age, education years, body mass index, and course of disease after 6 months of treatment in patients with comprehensive intervention treatment group and simple drug treatment group(p>0.05).All patients in the two treatment groups had no correlation with age, education years and body mass index(p>0.05)in 6 months, while negative correlation with the course of disease(r=-0.251,p<0.01).3?In the baseline, the level of FGF-2 in two treatment groups were significantly higher than that in the control group,[(189.06 ± 23.15)vs(160.93 ± 25.12)]ng/L,[(190.16 ± 24.78)vs.(160.93 ± 25.12)]ng/L,and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).4?In sixth months of reexamination of the sera patients.the serum FGF-2 concentration level in patients with simple drug treatment group was higher than that in the control group[(178.48 ± 25.99)vs(160.93 ± 25.12)]ng/L,and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).The serum FGF-2 concentration in the comprehensive intervention group was not significantly different from that in the control group[(169.56 ± 22.56)vs(160.93 ± 25.12)]ng/L,(p>0.05).At the 6th month, the serum FGF-2 concentration of the combined intervention treatment group and the pure drug treatment group were both lower than the baseline period,[(191.31±19.60)vs(169.56±22.56)]ng/L?[(199.09± 19.97)vs(178.48±25.99)]ng/L,and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).In addition, the concentration difference of FGF-2 before and after treatment in the comprehensive intervention group was positively correlated with the PANSS reduction rate(r=0.640,p<0.05).5?The baseline FGF-2 levels of the two treatment groups were not statistically correlated with their age, education years, body mass index, course of disease, the score of baseline scale and the rate of subtraction of 6 months(p>0.05).Conclusion(s):1.Comprehensive intervention treatment of schizophrenia can better improve mental symptoms and social function than medication alone. The pathogenesis of schizophrenic patients is negatively correlated with the PANSS reduction rate, suggesting that early drug treatment and certain rehabilitation intervention may contribute to the recovery of the disease.2.The level of FGF-2 in the acute stage of schizophrenia was significantly higher than that of the control group. After treatment, the concentration of FGF-2 decreased significantly compared with the baseline concentration, suggesting that anti psychotic drugs and rehabilitation intervention could improve the nerve injury and neurotrophic fluctuation of the disease.3.There is a positive correlation between the decrease of FGF-2 concentration and the reduction rate of PANSS.It is suggested that the concentration of FGF-2 may be related to the clinical efficacy, and may be a biological indicator of the change of the state of schizophrenia in the schizophrenic patients.
