Objective: To study the chemical constituents from Dalbergia benthami Prain.This work can provide scientific basis for the utilization and development of D.benthami.Methods: D.benthami was extracted by ethanol,and separated into four parts according to the polarity,including petroleum ether part,ethyl acetate part,n-butanol part and water part.Each portion was seperated and purified by silica gel,polyamide,Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography,preparative HPLC and recrystallization.The structures of compounds were identified by spectral analysis methods(MS,1H-NMR,13C-NMR,HMQC,HMBC,ROESY)and comparing with the published data.Results: Twenty-two compounds were isolated and nineteen of them were identified as 4’-hydroxy-6-hydroxymethyl-5,7-dimethoxy isoflavone(1),β-sitosterol(2),β-daucosterol(3),stigmasterol(4),3-phenylcoumarin robustin acid(5),robustin methyl ether(6),methyl robustate(7),robustin(8),4’-hydroxy-5,7-dimethoxy-6-(3-met hyl-2-butenyl)-isoflavone(9),formononetin(10),pseudobaptigenin(11),stigmasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(12),eleosanole acid(13),lignoceric acid(14),derrusnin(15),isoformononetin(16),1-(7-Hydroxy-5-methoxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-chromen-6-yl)-2-(4-methoxy phenyl)ethane-1,2-dione(17),kihadanin B(21),D-mannitol(22).Conclusion: Compound 1 is a new compound named dalbergi-benthamone,and all compounds are isolated from this plant for the first time.
